Kindergarten Classroom Community Bulletin Board Ideas

Building a respectful classroom community starts with having well-established and understood expectations for behavior. Especially when working with younger grades, it can really help to have a visual representation of your expectations rather than just words. Visual rules give you something to point to when reminding them, as well as being there to prompt them visually without you having to say anything.

Use this banner to select a student weekly. I hang ribbon under the banner and clip the child's name to it. I also teach two sections so I actually hang two ribbons! The kids love seeing who will be selected each week! I try not to base the student of the week on grades and try to focus more on improvement shown, effort, etc. I give each child a small certificate that they can take home, and the best part is that they also get to visit the treasure chest! Hope you find it helpful in not only managing classroom behavior but also in improving student morale!
