100 chart for counting patterns Google Slides online manipulative no-print

By TamiaDesigns

Need some online manipulatives for skip-counting or multiplication patterns? Ever had a perfectionist student who gets overly frustrated if they make a mistake? This product can lower their frustration level: if they make a mistake, unlike on a coloring page where crayon or colored pencil can't be erased, they can easily correct it and still end up with an immaculate final product.

Each of the 29 files in this set of Google Slides contains a classic hundred frame and sets of ready-made stacked colored semi-opaque markers. The markers can be dragged onto the 100 board to make patterns without obscuring the numbers on the board. You, or your students, drag the pre-made counters onto the 100 chart to help them visualize the numbers they are working with. Students can create skip-counting patterns, or use a combination of tiles to find common denominators.

You will need a Google account to use the link provided once you have bought the file. (If you don't have access to Google Slides, you may find my Powerpoint version useful.) It is set up so that you will make a copy of my original file and choose where in your Google Drive you would like to save it.

There are many ways to use these files whether you are teaching in person or online, whole group, or using this as a center activity! You could project them, use them on an interactive whiteboard, or you could share a file with students. They can each have their own copy, or the activity can be collaborative if they are given shared access to the file.

By TamiaDesigns

Need some online manipulatives for addition and subtraction problems? This Google Slides file is a 20-frame template (two 10 frames on each page) that you will add your own addition and subtraction problems to. Each of the twenty "double ten frame" template slides has 2 different counters and a stack of 20 of each counter ready to drag. There are many ways to use this file! You could use it on an interactive whiteboard, or you could share the file with students. They can each have their own copy, or the activity can be collaborative if they are given shared access to the file. You, or your students, drag the pre-made counters to the frames to the grid to help them visualize the numbers they are working with. You might choose to add specific problems ahead of time for students to work on, or you could create them on the fly as you work with students in a group while projecting the file on a whiteboard. Students like the variety of images used for the counters and teachers like not finding counters all over their classroom floor!

Place value up to hundred thousands and down to hundredths Online activity

By TamiaDesigns

Need some online manipulatives to help students understand place value and decimals? Students practice identifying and naming place value in numbers up to hundred thousands, and down to thousandths in this modifiable Google Slides template. The first slide has 100’s, 10’s, and 1’s, and the following slides add 1,000’s, 10,000’s, and 100,000’s. Subsequent slides have tenths, hundredths, and finally thousandths. There are eight basic slide templates with variations on each, for a total of 30 slides.

You add the specific numbers you want the students to work with – you can choose whether to give them the number in standard form or words first. Numbers can range up to to 999,999 and decimals go down to thousandths. Your students will add the numbers to the correct columns on the chart, write the number in words, and also in expanded form. You can easily have students also give you the number rounded to a specific digit. Some of the templates are deliberately missing the headers at the top of the chart so students will have to add the words for the place value.

You could use this activity on an interactive whiteboard or project it in the classroom. You could share the file digitally with students as a no-print center to work on in class, or with students working remotely.

To use this file, you (and your students, if you plan on assigning them a copy of the file) will need a Google account.

10 less 10 more 1 less 1 more place value no-print editable Slides activity

By TamiaDesigns

Do your students need to work on number sense and building automaticity with 10 less, 10 more, 1 less, and 1 more? This Google Slides offers an interactive, editable, activity, that is a great way for them to do this. It works well:

  • for whole group instruction,
  • as an in-class center activity that doesn’t require printing
  • for remote learning.

There are 12 slides in the file to help your students work on number sense

The first few slides are designed to be used on an interactive whiteboard or projected in the classroom, and the others for students to work on individually or in pairs. You can share the file digitally with students as a no-print center to work on in class, or online with students working remotely.

The file can be used over and over and customized every time! You add the starting number to the center of each grid and your students will add the numbers around it! It is designed with differentiated levels of support – you can choose to have a 100 or 120 frame to refer to, reminders of which numbers go where, or a blank template with no prompts other than the number you add to the center of the grid. There is an optional draggable grid overlay to use on the 100 & 120 charts that will help you highlight the number you are working on when you are first introducing this topic. You can choose to allow your students to access this tool or not.

To use this file, you will need a Google account.
