Hit the Target A Making 10 and Making 5 Math Game - Addition and Subtraction
By Curious Classroom Adventures
This product is a classroom tested kid-favorite. It keeps students engaged in math and practicing data collection, making 5, making 10, and addition facts.
Instructions:
Print the selected target for each group of students to be laid flat in the middle of the group. There are 2 options: Making 10 (2, 5. 6. 7. 9) and Making 5 (0, 1, 2, 3, 4). Print one recording sheet for each student. When instructed, students will shoot/throw their object and attempt to land it on the target. After each toss the students will record the the number they landed on, color a frame, and write an addition sentence using that number to make 10 or make 5 (depending on which target they are using). A completed sample of the recording sheet is included as a visual aid for students. Provide each student with a cotton ball, pom-pom, wadded up ball of paper, lima bean or some other soft object to use. They can toss the object or shoot it along the table/floor. Stand back and watch the fun!
