Back to School Introduction to Inventions and Engineering STEM Activity

This back to school resource is a great way to introduce inventions and inventors to students. A link to an engaging Youtube video is featured. Included is a thoughts and suggestions sheet which highlights portions of the video and offers tips for discussion and video follow-up. There are three colorful posters with quotes from the video that should serve to inspire your class (two are similar - choose the one that suits your needs the best). There are worksheets for students to draw, label, and write about their idea for inventions that they may have!

- Little Innovators letters for a bulletin board banner. White at the top can be folded
over a string, if you want it to swag! Otherwise just cut and staple. It can also
be printed at a reduced size and used at a STEM center.
- Numbers for tables. I call them teams instead of groups to remind students that they
should be working together to help each other!
- Labels for specials schedules and a clock, so you can fill in the times.
- Labels for daily subjects
- Innovator Poster with the definition
- Nameplates with boy and girl engineers and scientists
- Scientists and engineers with stars for writing students' names on.
