Technology - Computer/Tablet Coding

By Amanda G

Coding for computers and tablets.

STEAM initiatives are supported with this package.

This resource is a great starting of place for those that would like to incorporate coding into their STEAM/STEM or technology lessons.

This resource includes 5 different "stations" that could be done as a whole class activity, or more like traditional ELL and math learning centres.

There are two reading pages included to help students better understand binary coding and block coding.

The coding "challenge journal” has been tested with students in grades 4-7. Each task provided students with enough challenge that the tasks could be completed in two 40-50 minute periods. Students are asked reflective questions in each of the tasks.

What others are saying:

  • Great unit. Very easy to use, and my students really enjoyed the assignments/activities. (Melissa G)
  • Great ideas to use with my library classes! Thank you! (Lisa W)
  • This is a great place to start.(Cristy D)
