Stem-Changing Verbs Present Tense Conjugation Dice Activities

By Senorita Creativa

Get your students practicing the conjugations of stem-changing verbs in the present tense in Spanish with this fun, low-prep dice activity! Although this resource is aimed at practicing the present tense, it could be used at all levels simply by instructing students to use a different tense! All you need is copies of the game sheet and one or two dice for each group.

This activity can be done individually, in pairs, or in small groups and it's a great way to fill a few extra minutes when your lesson ends early or on days with irregular schedules (like standardized test days, pep rallies, early releases, etc). This is also a great learning station activity. My students love playing the dice game and I'm sure yours will too!

This bundled resource includes 2 versions of each activity, each with 6 different stem-changing verbs. Each of the three resources included in this bundle include:

  • Version 1 (page 4) with six subjects, six verbs, and twelve lines for writing out sentences.
  • Version 2 (page 5) with the same six subjects and six verbs as version one without space to write. This version is great to print on colored cardstock and laminate for the future. Two copies of the activity are on each page in version 2.

The verbs practiced are:

pedir, repetir, servir, medir, corregir, elegir, empezar, entender, querer, preferir, cerrar, mentir, dormir, volver, almorzar, poder, mover, and contar.

This is a fun review game to play with your Spanish students. I designed this game using regular –er and -ir verbs, as well as ir, ser, hacer, querer, decir, estar, and stem-changing -ir verbs, all in the preterite. 3. The next player draws a card, and play continues.
  4. If the player lands on “pierda su turno”, they lose their next turn.
  5. If the player lands on “turno extra”, they get an extra turn.
  6. Play continues until the first player reaches “el fin”.

Irregular Preterite Verbs Word Puzzles Set 1 | Word Search and Crossword

By Senorita Creativa

Are your students tired of boring "drill and kill" conjugation review, but they still need more practice? These fun word puzzles (in pdf form) are a great way to practice or review irregular verbs in the preterite tense with your students. There are 25 verb forms included in the puzzles (20 in the puzzles that DO NOT include the vosotros form of the verbs) included in the four puzzles.

This file includes:

  • two crosswords (with clues in Spanish, such as "yo - decir" for "dije")
  • one word search (with clues in Spanish, such as "yo - decir" for "dije")
  • one mystery word puzzle, also known as "crack the code" (with pictures, no English)
  • one word jumble puzzle (without clues)
  • answer keys for each puzzle
  • a table of contents
  • teacher tips page

The verbs used in these engaging puzzles are decir, querer, hacer, dar, ir, ser, and ver.

**There are two versions of each puzzle included in this resource, one version includes the vosotros form of the verbs and the second version omits the vosotros form.**

Gustos y Disgustos Vocab Powerpoint with Pictures | Likes and Dislikes Unit

By Senorita Creativa

Do you struggle to present new vocabulary in a comprehensible way while staying completely in the target language? Then this fun PowerPoint presentation is a great way to introduce or review Spanish likes and dislikes vocabulary with your elementary or secondary class. There are 55 terms (plus section titles) represented on 60 different slides (plus a title page and a terms of use page).

The terms represented include:

  • 9 phrases (such as "me encanta")
  • 9 adjectives
  • 16 nouns
  • 21 activities (infinitives and verb phrases)

Each slide is animated so that the picture appears first, followed by the Spanish term. The presentation uses minimal English, but still very comprehensible, thanks to the great clip art. The only English included in this resource is to translate the descriptions and "...porque es (son)...". My students really enjoy when we use this as a review with whiteboards. Make sure to check out the preview for a complete list of terms. Please note that the terms in the presentation are NOT editable, although slides may be deleted or rearranged.

**Please note that the pictures are covered by white boxes that are animated to disappear when in presentation mode. When viewing the presentation in any mode other than “presentation mode”, it looks like there aren’t any pictures.** © 2019 Rachel Bailey (La Señorita Creativa®) All Rights Reserved
