Area and Circumference of Circles Pi Day Self Checking Digital Escape Room

This Area and Circumference of a Circle | Pi and the Lost Digits Escape Room is a fun way to engage your middle schoolers in learning how to calculate area and circumference of Circles! With this no-prep, digital math-based escape room activity, your students will have a great time finding circumference, area, and radius given one circle measurement in order to find the solution to a mystery.

There are 20 problems:

  • Calculate the circumference given the radius
  • Calculate the area given the radius
  • Calculate the radius given the circumference
  • Calculate the radius given the area

Based on the premise that Pi has lost its digits, your students will explore five different locations full of activities, jokes and fun facts. 

Since this escape room is online (interactive pages) there is very little prep: provide the link, and off they go! There are no locks to configure or clues to hide—everything you need is online. No Google Classroom or Microsoft Teams logins are necessary. 

A printable version of the problems is also included.

You can use it as:

★ additional materials for remediation

★ a reward or “Fun Friday” activity

★ before the busy holiday break

★ an emergency sub lesson plan
