Gamification of Tests / Boss Battles
By Z is for Zebra
Turn your regular classroom tests into Boss Battles! Have you tried gamification in your class? Apply game principles that kids find fun and enjoyable to your classroom! If you have tried gamification or are looking to see what you could do with it in your classroom try out this great new product "Turning Assessments into Boss Battles!" Harness the energy that your students put into games like Pokemon, Magic the Gathering or other card games and focus that into your classroom.

Students will be motivated to do well as they will help out both their class and their guilds work towards goals and earn game rewards. I tried to write this for people who have limited experience with gamification and role-playing games, so if you have any suggestions for improvement, I would love to hear them.
Included in this product:
4 pages of instructions on how the system works
1 page of health tokens for you to print out and use in your game
1 Boss/ enemy card for your student to battle against

Julius Caesar PRE-READING HANDOUT: A History of the Roman Republic | Shakespeare
By Rigorous Resources for High School English
This 4-page pre-reading handout provides students with important background information for understanding William Shakespeare's Julius Caesar. This resource includes a two-page handout on the history of the Roman Republic. The resource also included is a comprehension check and answer key so that teachers can assess whether students have understood important details from the handout.
Learning about the history of the Roman Republic will provide students with the contextual information necessary for understanding certain lines in Shakespeare's Julius Caesar. You could have students read this handout for homework before starting the play; or you could have students read the handout aloud together in class before giving them the comprehension check worksheet.

Daily Wrap Up: Student Objective and Closure Log
By Brittany Henderson
I use this form for students to keep track of the objectives for the day. At the end of class they are required to write something that they learned or maybe something that they already knew that we went into more depth about. They are also required to state something that they want more information about or would clarify something that we talked about. This is a simple way to quickly assess the lesson. I use this along side our student planners and agendas. This is sometimes my ticket out the door.

THIS IS A DEMO OF A LESSON IN THE COURSE. IT ONLY INCLUDES THE SLIDES, PACING GUIDE, AND THE ASSIGNMENT.
THE ACTUAL LESSON ALSO INCLUDES A PDF ANSWER KEY, AND .JAVA RUNNABLE ANSWER KEY.
THIS WILL ALLOW YOU TO GET AN IDEA OF WHAT THE FULL COURSE LOOKS LIKE!
Hello and welcome!
Are you math teacher and have been thrown into teaching a computer science course? Now you have NO IDEA where to start! Have you taught computer science, but want to try something else? Math and computer science are related, but are not the same!
I have your back. I've been teaching math and computer science, including APCSP, APCSA, and Data Structures for almost two decades. I also teach an introduction course. This is part of the course I made up for my intro students. I have a BS in computer science and know what students need to know.
This is part 0 ("computer people" start counting at 0, we'll learn why!) and part 1 of an introductory Programming in Java lesson. These lessons are meant to be done on the first few days; the idea is to get students doing cool stuff as fast as possible. With Java, that is NOT an easy task.
Topics:
Programming in Java 0: An Introduction to Java
How to start using Java- installing the compiler
General error types
HelloWorld project
All lessons will come with the following:
a pdf slideshow
an assignment, differentiated with three different levels!
A pacing guide with hints for teaching the section and common student
errors
an answer key in pdf form
an answer key in .java form
THE DEMO HAS NO ANSWERS
Depending on your style, you could go over Programming in Java 0 on day 1, then let students play around. Go over Programming in Java 1 the next day and give them the attached assignment. Or you could just give them the slides and assignment and let them play.
Let students explore and make mistakes. Let them talk to each other and discuss their approaches. Programming takes a lot of trial and error.
Great for asynchronous learning and homeschooling! Could be used as a self- taught lesson or go at your own pace! Everything for learning is included!
Welcome to the world of programming! It's going to be a blast!
