If you are looking for a hands on engaging activity to help reinforce focus, directrix, vertex and writing the equation of a parabola, these matching cards will be perfect for your students! They get 24 different cards and have to pair together the correct vertex, directrix and focus using what they know about each! Then they will sketch the graph and write the equation in two different ways! This activity is a perfect all period activity. You can even have each group make a great visual poster and include a little written explanation about how they went about pairing using mathematical vocabulary
The matching cards are super simple to cut out and will take you about 35 seconds to cut them out for each group! (I timed it ). You can give them the color coded cards, print on colored paper or just give them the black and white versions!
