This product was made for students to learn the following: living and working together in America, why rules/laws are established for people to follow, the differences between towns, the meaning of government, laws, local government, services that a community provides, the difference between state and national government, democracy, voting, mayor, governor, President, who leads a state, who leads a country, Senate, House of Representatives, Congress, senators,

The notes are adapted to meet your student's individual learning needs. After reviewing and discussing the notes, there is a review packet that goes through everything that was discussed in the notes. Students will complete fill in the blank questions using a key and answering short answer questions throughout the packet. Students can complete the review independently, with support, or it can be used as an assessment as well.

Need a quick fun Friday(or day before a vacation activity)? Teaching American History and want to introduce your students to Eleanor Roosevelt? Try this fun and information play based on the Mark Goodson Production To Tell the Truth Game Show. To Tell the Truth was a popular television show which has returned with host Anthony Anderson(of Blackish). Three guests all claim to be the real guest being interviewed by a panel. The real guest must tell the truth where the other imposters do not have to do so. Kids must be "truth detectives" to determine just who is the REAL Eleanor Roosevelt.

Students in grades 4-9 will have fun acting out their parts and learning some interesting facts about First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt. Discuss questions and activities are also included.

Founded in 1948 by Kim II-Sung, North Korea is officially called the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. About the size of the state of Pennsylvania, it has been nicknamed the Hermit Kingdom because it is a country that few from the outside world have visited. With North Korea being in the news a lot lately, this might be a great opportunity to introduce students to the "Hermit Kingdom".

Administrators always say to put the tracking in the students hands, make sure you are keeping data, and never offer ways to help you do these! Well, that's where I come in! I sat down with the test specs, essential standards, and standard break down sheet to create this awesome excel sheet that you could easily print, distribute, or put in a google sheet that your students can track THEMSELVES! Plus this is also a great tracker for PLC's to ensure all students are learning the content & you are on the same page. this has made our team meetings go SO much soother! This is my favorite tool in my classroom.

Students will track themselves unit by unit & standard by standard with the use of "I can" statements.

Instructions: Step By Step

1. Find the unit we are in right now.

2. Based on the work we have done thus far, please put an x in the box that best describes your knowledge of the "I can" statement.

3. Be sure to revisit this before your test to ensure that You've Got This Down! This is what the US History team is creating your test off of. If you can move yourself to the final column of "Yes, I can." Then you should score 80% or higher on the test. I will be checking on these :)

4. If you get assigned to an intervention. You will need to edit this on the last day of that cycle
