This ESL resource helps review basic personal questions. This is a great way to get to know your students. Students can interview their classmates to get extra speaking practice. Looking for an engaging way to get your ESL students to build their communication skills and vocabulary? Taboo is a fun speaking and listening game where one student has to guess a word based on clues given by other students. The catch is that they cannot mention anything that is included in a list of taboo words.

Object of the game:

One player tries to get his teammate to guess the word at the top of a card. The player must give clues, but he can't use any of the Taboo words in his description. The taboo words are written beneath the underlined word at the top of the card.

Teams score points for each word successfully guessed. The team with the most points at the end of the game wins.

Beginner students should be allowed to use the TABOO words printed on the cards. This will encourage them to use new vocabulary and will help them in forming sentences to use as clues.

Resource 3: School Bingo
