Using the format of my Ms. Bie Ografee Talk Show Series, Jefferson is a guest on the show and audience members ask questions of her guest, Thomas Jefferson. 4. On February 28, 1803, President Thomas Jefferson got approval by Congress for an expedition to explore the lands of the Louisiana Purchase. Meriwether Lewis and William Clark were asked by President Thomas Jefferson to led the expedition. On May 14, 1804, the expedition called, the Corps of Discovery began. Teaching American History and want to introduce your students to First Ladies of the United States? Try this fun and informational play based on the Mark Goodson Production To Tell the Truth Game Show on Mary Todd Lincoln. To Tell the Truth was a popular television show which has returned with host Anthony Anderson(of Blackish). Three guests all claim to be the real guest being interviewed by a panel. The real guest must tell the truth where the other impostors do not have to do so. Kids must be "truth detectives" to determine just who is the REAL Mary Todd Lincoln.

Students in grades 4 and up will have fun acting out their parts and learning some interesting facts about First Lady Mary Todd Lincoln. Discussion questions,comprehension questions and activities are also included.

Need a quick fun Friday(or day before a vacation activity)? Teaching American History and want to introduce your students to First Ladies of the United States? Try this fun and information play based on the Mark Goodson Production To Tell the Truth Game Show on Lady Bird Johnson. To Tell the Truth was a popular television show which has returned with host Anthony Anderson(of Blackish). Three guests all claim to be the real guest being interviewed by a panel. The real guest must tell the truth where the other impostors do not have to do so. Kids must be "truth detectives" to determine just who is the REAL Lady Bird Johnson.

Students in grades 4 and up will have fun acting out their parts and learning some interesting facts about First Lady Lady Bird Johnson,called one of Washington's first environmentalists! Discussion questions,comprehension questions and activities are also included.

And, you may not know that Abraham Lincoln didn't like the name Abe and that even his wife called him by the name Lincoln.A quote of Lincoln: "And in the end it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years. There are several discussion questions in addition to 11 informative text web questions.

Over the years, I have developed a number of webquests for Instructor Magazine. All my webquests contain lots of informational facts within the webquest so the students learn something as they are reading the questions. The webquests have extension activities and most of my webquests also have comprehension questions,too. Did you know that President Jimmy Carter was the first to install solar energy panels on the White House or that President Ronald Reagan had them removed? Did you know that President Benjamin Harrison and his family didn’t like to shut off the “new” electric lights(installed in 1891), afraid to touch the switches or that a specially large bathtub was installed in the White House?Learn more about the White House with this fun and informative webquest.

What is this event in the USA called an "Inauguration"? Taking the oath of office, a big parade and evening balls, Inauguration Day is a very busy day for the incoming President! There are 12 web questions, a Did You Know? section, comprehension questions and extension activities.

This resource would be a great activity for around Inauguration Day to learn all about the history and festivities surrounding our country's inauguration procedures. It could be used as a Friday activity or when you are studying US Government and for Presidents' Weekend.

4. Do YOU Know Your Presidents is a series of three challenges. Each challenge worksheet has 25 questions(with 3 choices). The first challenge is the easiest with the third, the hardest.There is also a Presidential Did You Know? Section: Presidential Challenge! What do you know about Our Presidents?

5. You may have heard the word IMPEACHMENT being used in the news. Some people are talking about impeachment and the 45th president of the United States, Donald Trump. What exactly is impeachment? In U.S. History, only two presidents have had charges of impeachment. Use this webquest to learn more about how the founding fathers determined the use of impeachment in the U.S. Constitution and the history of impeachment.

There are 10 web questions on this topic(including the Order of Succession and the Checks and Balances between the three branches of government). 6. Constitution Day is September 17th each year(except for 2017) when the day falls on a Sunday and will be celebrated on September 18th. This play would be a great addition to your lessons about the U.S. Constitution.

Part of my Ms. Bie Ografe series of plays, this Reader's Theater Script is on the "Father of the Constitution", James Madson(1751-1836), and his sharing with students the history of the writing of the Constitution. Madison who would become the 4th President of the United States(1809-1817)), played a very important role in the forming of our US Constitution. In addition to being a delegate, he introduced the first additions to the Constitution(amendments) which came to be known as the Bill of Rights. With 13 audience questioners, a Did You Know Section, comprehension questions, a Teacher Page with extension activities, key and additional links, students will learn about the writing of our important government document, the Constitution.

This product includes a research report template. Students will answer the following questions: name of president, when the president was born, when the president died, how many years in office the president was, how many terms the president served, who the vice president was at the time the president was in office, two challenges the president faced, two accomplishments the president achieved, and three interesting facts that were learned. There is a section for students to print out a picture or draw a picture of the president. At the end of the template, there is a section for resources as well.

There is an example provided at the end of the template as well that includes information about George Washington.

The students finished product could be made into a vertical poster (as seen in the thumbnail photo) and glue the black sections to the back of each page or cut the templates out and create a booklet.

This product includes three file folders activities.

In the first file folder activity, students will match each of the 16 questions that match with the correct president - George Washington or Abraham Lincoln.

In the second file folder activity, students will answer the questions about Presidents' Day with the given answers.

In the third file folder activity, students will answer fun facts about 12 of the United States presidents. They will match the question card with the answer. Answer key is included.

Enrich your studies of history with this simple worksheet about the historical figure: Thomas Jefferson. The student will fill out important dates, interesting facts, etc, and can color a picture of the historical figure. Collect each worksheet as you travel through time. Great addition to any historical timeline or social studies project.
