Technology Word Wall / Terms & Definitions for Macs. A-Z - Over 180 Terms

By Z is for Zebra

As important as technology is these days, many students still don't know common terminology as it relates to the computer, devices and technology in general. If you are looking for ways to incorporate more technology words into your classroom, these would be a great way to do so! There are every single letter from A to Z. Not only is there a ton of technology terms, they are all defined. If the term is for a computer short cut, I have listed the Mac keyboard shortcut. The product is focused on mac/apple computers with the images and terms. Cut them out and hang them as a word wall, all 26 letters of the alphabet are covered! This set contains 180+ technology terms & definitions (enough for one every single day for an ENTIRE school year). I have tried to put an image with most of them, but there are a few which do not have an image with them. You can also use these as a technology word wall, as there is at least one word for every letter of the alphabet! Each page contains 2 terms / definitions. The cards measure 10.4" wide by 3.9" tall. By Howlin' Husky Math Games

Hello and welcome!

Are you math teacher and have been thrown into teaching a computer science course? Now you have NO IDEA where to start! Have you taught computer science, but want to try something else? Math and computer science are related, but are not the same!

I have your back. I've been teaching math and computer science, including APCSP, APCSA, and Data Structures for almost two decades. I also teach an introduction course. This is part of the course I made up for my intro students. I have a BS in computer science and know what students need to know.

This is part 2 of an introductory Programming in Java course. These lessons are meant to be done over a few days; the idea is to get students doing cool stuff as fast as possible. With Java, that is NOT an easy task.

Topics:

Programming in Java 2: The Scanner Class

What is a class?

How to import a class

Making an object

Using the Scanner's methods to take input

All lessons will come with the following:

a pdf slideshow

A pacing guide with hints for teaching the section and common student
errors

an assignment, differentiated with three different levels!

an answer key in pdf form

an answer key in .java form

Depending on your style, you could go over the slides as a group, then let students play around. Or you could just give them the slides and assignment and let them go.

Let students explore and make mistakes. Let them talk to each other and discuss their approaches. Programming takes a lot of trial and error and collaboration.

Welcome to the world of programming! It's going to be a blast!

Programming in Scratch 6: Variables and Lists Blocks

By Howlin' Husky Math Games

Hello and welcome!

Are you math teacher and have been thrown into teaching a computer science course? Now you have NO IDEA where to start! Have you taught computer science, but want to try something else? Math and computer science are related, but are not the same!

I have your back. I've been teaching math and computer science, including APCSP, APCSA, and Data Structures for almost two decades. Scratch is a really easy to learn language to learn which makes it perfect for beginners. Block based coding looks very simple at first, but it is just as intricate as a keyed language. The difference is that coders don't need to memorize complex syntax to use it. This makes it perfect for younger kids; but it's still complex enough for older students.

This is part 6 of a semester long programming in Scratch course.

Topics:

Programming in Scratch 6: Variables and Lists Blocks Assignment

  • Variables blocks
  • Setting and using variables
  • Lists
  • When to use a list
  • Adding, removing, and inserting from lists

All lessons will come with the following:

Programming in Scratch 7: Sensing Blocks

This is part 7 of a semester long programming in Scratch course.

Topics:

Programming in Scratch 7: Sensing Blocks

  • Sensing Blocks
  • The Game Timer
  • Collision detection
  • The touching blocks
  • The ask block

All lessons will come with the following:

a pdf slideshow

A pacing guide with hints for teaching the section and common student errors

an assignment, differentiated with three different levels!

an answer key in pdf form
