Let's face it, forming good cooperative learning teams can be a chore. Not anymore! To create effective teams, we must juggle a lot of variables. Writing everything out by hand on TONS of index cards is a hassle. Simply type in the template, print on cardstock, or just store in a google doc. BOOM, amazingness. Cooperative Learning at it's best.

This is an EDITABLE 3" x 3" Post-It Note Templates that are re-usable.

In this download, I have included step-by-step directions on how to print on Post-It notes on the template. A template for the 3" x 3" square-sized sticky notes is included and is EDITABLE for you to use while creating your own printable post-it note designs.

These post-it note templates can be used for motivational inspiration for your class/children, or any way that you feel your class/children would need support and guidance.

Using coloring bookmarks with quotes and illustrations can be a wonderful way to engage readers and explore the themes and characters of the play. Here are some ideas on how to use them in your classroom or at a book club:

• Book Club and Classroom Discussions: Use the bookmarks as prompts for book club discussions. Hand out different bookmarks and ask them to share their thoughts and insights related to the quote or illustration on their bookmark.
• Emotional Response: Have participants color the bookmarks while discussing their emotional responses to the play.
• Use bookmarks as student or book club member rewards/gifts.
• Attach a bookmarks to a pack of coloring pens or a book for a small gift.
• Homemade Gifts: Encourage students to give their colored bookmarks to classmates, friends, or family members who enjoy reading. It's a thoughtful and personalized gift that can foster a love for literature.
• Collaborative Coloring: Set up a collaborative coloring station where students can work together to create a large, colorful bookmark collage, using bookmarks featuring quotes from different books.
• Use coloring bookmarks as a relaxing downtime activity.
• As an addition to subplans and for early finishers.
• Add to cards and letters.

For best results print them on thick white cardstock paper.

In this Mini Socratic Seminar students will have Socratic dialogue in small groups in order to discuss and plan for a social contract. By the end of this lesson your students will have a deep understanding of what it means to have a cooperative and inclusive environment for learning!

Seminar:

• Students are placed in small groups or virtual break out rooms of 5-6 students.
• Teacher poses the essential question.
• Students respond to the question through writing their own questions using Costas.
• Teacher chooses a Socratic Seminar leader for each group.
• The leader facilitates the seminar discussion by guiding group members to a deeper and clarified consideration of the ideas, a respect for varying points of view, and adherence to and respect for the seminar process.
• Students may pose new questions when the discussion is exhausted. New questions posed must relate to students’ ideas and contributions in response to the initial essential question.
• Students write a list of classroom norms with their group.

Kirsten has 18 years of experience in elementary education. She has been a homeroom teacher for first grade, third grade, and fourth grade, as well as ESL.
