This Writing & Vocabulary Google Slide lesson is perfect for any language arts class grades 4th through 8th. This lesson is a great vocab for January, a reflection on the holidays, or the start of a new year.

VOCABULARY: The persuasive writing lesson includes 9 highly advanced vocabulary words with three-fold animated photo slides. These vivid slides present a bold photo, the definition and part of speech for each of these challenging new words:

  1. tradition
  2. obstacle
  3. anticipation
  4. memorable
  5. reflection
  6. resolution
  7. countdown
  8. resilience
  9. festivity

WRITING: The 9 rigorous vocabulary words have been woven into three higher level writing prompts for a persuasive written response. In addition to the persuasive writing prompts, a teacher-friendly grading rubric is included; to highlight the use of the advanced vocabulary.

PRACTICE: Eight printable graphic organizers for the newly learned words are part of this lesson. They provide grammar review, grammar sort, connotation review, connotation sort, and word study exploring synonyms, antonyms etc.
