Group Mural Art: Winter Concert Decorations. Fall/Autumn.
By Art Shack by JB
This creative Winter Concert Decorations: Art Unit was designed to be printed and displayed as examples while you teach. Use this Google Slide file to display these beautiful images one-by-one on the big screen. For this assignment, I asked students to get with a partner or into small groups and brainstorm subject matter, orientation, and theme of the overall composition. Plus, decide which group member(s) will be in charge of what to draw and where to draw it. Students will need to sketch out ideas first inside a sketchbook, transfer the sketches to Final Copy Paper, outline the large image, and start coloring in everything with crayon. Sadly, most other art materials will ruin the roll paper. I hope you and your kiddos love this! Enjoy!

Welcome Back to School Letter & End of Year Letter BUNDLE w/ Digital Option
By Kirsten's Kaboodle
Please note: You MUST USE ADOBE READER to edit the editable fields in these files (the greeting and closing fields).
PLEASE NOTE THAT BOTH OF THESE FILES INCLUDE A SPECIAL 2020 LETTER TO ADDRESS EDUCATION CHANGES AS A RESULT OF THE CORONAVIRUS. COVID-19 WILL LIKELY CONTINUE TO IMPACT THE WAYS WE DELIVER INSTRUCTION TO STUDENTS AND THESE LETTERS ADDRESS THAT UNCERTAINTY.
NOTE: The body of these letters ARE NOT EDITABLE. The only editable fields on these letters are the greeting and signature fields. If you are looking for a letter with an editable body, these letters are NOT for you!
Please read the description for each product below:
BACK TO SCHOOL LETTERS FROM THE TEACHER:
This welcome back to school product includes a letter that teachers can send home to parents as well as a letter that teachers can send home with students. Each letter comes in a variety of border choices and black-and-white versions.
The letter to parents comes with a boy or girl version (the pronouns are changed throughout the letter to reflect a male student or a female student). This letter has three color background options as well the corresponding backgrounds in black and white.
The letter to students comes with three color background options as well as the corresponding backgrounds and clip art in black and white. Note: This letter does not require a boy/girl option since the teacher is using the pronouns "you" and "I" throughout the letter.
The new letters that have been added for 2020 can be found in the BEGINNING of the product file. You will find them on the first six pages following the instructions for editing the text boxes in the greeting and signature fields.
All versions of each letter have editable text boxes in the Greeting Field and the Signature Field. You can edit these two places on each letter, if you choose. If you'd like to print the letters as is, you may write in the student's name and your own signature. Just for reference, the font is Miss Kindergarten by Kimberly Geswein and the size is 14. THE BODY OF THE LETTERS ARE NOT EDITABLE.
BOTH LETTERS ARE ORIGINAL! I have NOT copied a letter that I found online and retyped it. This is important because you may want to mix things up and send a new letter home this year.
If you have any questions about this product, please ask prior to purchasing. If you aren't sure how to edit text boxes, I've included a page of instructions at the beginning of the product for your convenience.
END-OF-YEAR LETTER TO STUDENTS AND PARENTS:
AN ADDITIONAL SPECIAL 2020 VERSION OF THESE LETTERS HAS BEEN ADDED to account for the changes that occurred in the 2020 school year due to the COVID crisis. These letters make note of the fact that your school year ended early unexpectedly due to the coronavirus.
You will also find a GOOGLE Slides option so that you can send paperless letters remotely (via email or through Google). Look at the final page of the GOOGLE SLIDES FILE for instructions on sending these end of year letters remotely!
NOTE: The body of these letters are NOT EDITABLE. If you want a letter that you can edit, this is NOT the product for you. The greeting and signature field are the ONLY customizable portions of this product.
These editable (the greeting and signature fields are the ONLY editable portion of the letters) end of year letters to students and parents include an encouraging letter that teachers can send home to parents as well as a letter that teachers can send home with students (each letter contains a different message and is ORIGINAL).
The letter to parents comes with a boy or girl version (the pronouns are changed throughout the letter to reflect a male student or a female student). This letter has three color background options as well as similar backgrounds in black and white.
The letter to students comes with three color background options as well as the corresponding backgrounds in black and white. Note: This letter does not require a boy/girl option since the teacher is using the pronouns "you" and "I" throughout the letter.
All versions of each letter have editable text boxes in the Greeting Field and the Signature Field. You can edit these two places on each letter, if you choose. If you'd like to print the letters as is, you may write in the student's name and your own signature. Just for reference, the font is Miss Kindergarten by Kimberly Geswein.
AGAIN, THE BODY OF THE LETTER IS NOT EDITABLE!
ALL THE LETTERS ARE ORIGINAL! I did NOT copy a letter that I found online and retype it. This is important because you may want to mix things up and send a new letter home this year.
If you have any questions about this product, please ask prior to purchasing. If you aren't sure how to edit text boxes, I've included a page of instructions at the beginning of the product for your convenience.

Lately, upsetting things have been happening in the world and our students are very much aware of them. Tens of thousands of people have protested on the streets to make their voices heard about all kinds of issues that students care about including racism, inequality, policing, discrimination, etc. Protests have spread across the nation and seem to rival the historic demonstrations of the Civil Rights Movement. It is important for us to bring these topics into our classrooms—because students want to be part of the conversation and share their thoughts and feelings about the very issues that affect them.
This resource features 48 Protest questions that can be used as writing prompts, discussion/debate questions, or both! These questions encourage students to think deeply about protests, the root causes of them, their experiences with them, the effectiveness of them, how they compare to the protests of the past - AND SO MUCH MORE! These questions can spark some deep conversations among students. Without a doubt, these questions give students an opportunity to share their feelings and thoughts about the protests they have been witnessing.
These Protest Writing or Discussion Prompt Questions would make an AMAZING supplement to any lesson and can be used in a variety of ways.
The Break Down:
✅ 48 Protest Question TASK CARDS (Color / BW)
These Protest Writing/Discussion Question Task Cards can be used as part of a larger lesson, in guided small groups, whole-class discussions, partner discussion before sharing out with the larger group or class, or even one-on-one with a teacher, guidance counselor, or parent/guardian! You can organize them in a binder ring.
✅ 48 Protest Question Worksheets (same questions in the Task Cards)
This resource also includes 48 Protest Writing/Discussion Question WORKSHEETS with lines, so students can write their responses. Each worksheet contains a question about protest (the same questions in the Task Cards). It's a great opportunity for students to reflect about their own perspectives of protests and share their feelings about them. These Worksheets are included in PDF and GOOGLE SLIDES versions! Text boxes have already been added to make it easier for you and your students!
These worksheets are great for “Quick Writes,” Do Now activities, Note-Taking/Reflection periods, Formative Assessments, or can simply be used as part of a larger lesson or discussion!
✅ 48 Protest Writing/Discussion Question Strips
These sentence question strips are beautifully created and feature the same protest questions in the task cards and worksheets. They can be cut, distributed, and/or be used in many ways including distributing one or two to each student to think about, share their thinking and perspectives with a partner, randomly choose a strip to answer, etc.
✅ LIST of Protest Questions
Also included is a 2.5-page LIST OF PROTEST QUESTIONS to allow easier access for teachers to read and select questions to work with. It’s like an overview page of the protest questions listed in the Task Cards, Worksheets, and Strips.
Lesson plans are not included. These Protest Writing/Discussion Question Task Cards and Worksheets can be used as a supplement to your own lesson plans and in such a way that best meets the needs of your students.
