Outdoor Education Learning Bundle - Indigenous Education

Dive into outdoor education with this outdoor learning bundle. Indigenous Sacred Medicines, nature journal activity, I Spy seasonal sit spot activity, nature scavenger hunt, discover the cedar tree, and learn about the Indigenous history of lacrosse. 10+ outdoor education learning activities within this bundle!
Resources included in this bundle are:
1) Outdoor Education Nature Journal
Connect to nature, observe the land you live and learn on. This nature journal includes 4 writing prompts and 2 fun activities to do outside.
2) Indigenous Sacred Medicines
Students will understand the cultural significance of tobacco, sage, cedar and sweetgrass - the four Indigenous Sacred Medicines. Students will learn how Indigenous people use these plants in ceremony and in daily life. Students will learn about the life cycle of these plants and they will create a Sacred Medicines booklet.
3) Cedar Tree Inquiry
Learn about cedar, the tree of life for Indigenous people. 1 of 4 Sacred Indigenous Medicines. Traditional uses of cedar, the origin of cedar, the cultural importance. Students will get the chance to make traditional cedar tea and students will work hard to create a tree ring project which represents their life so far. These turn out beautifully.
4) Indigenous Nature Search and Find (Scavenger Hunt Activity)
A fun, no prep outdoor education activity for students! Learn how Indigenous people value nature and the Earth. Like a scavenger hunt, students will search for (but will not touch or disturb) 7 nature items. This activity is made for people in British Columbia; as some items are specific to this province. Items are: cedar, fir, ferns, a feather, moss, spider web and a bug & student choice. I love doing this activity during spring time!
5) Indigenous History of Lacrosse
Do your students LOVE the sport of lacrosse? Mine too. This resource teaches you the Indigenous history of lacrosse. Two activities included: lacrosse reflection questions, and drawing activity.
6) I Spy Activity
