Digital Resource: Black History Month Hyperdoc

By Nemos Nook

This is a perfect way to have students learn about four Black Americans instrumental in the US Civil Rights Movement. Students will watch videos, answer questions, write poetry, create a headline and will identify a hero in their own lives who shows the same perseverance of those featured. All of the activities are done on the hyperdoc. I usually have students do this over the course of 3-4 days independently and have them submit it electronically for an assessment grade.

I am always amazed at the connections students make with this assignment to their own experiences.

This specific resource highlights the lives of Malcolm X, Sojourner Truth, Frederick Douglass and Jackie Robinson.
