Get your students more motivated in class with puntos. Using these tickets with “puntos” is a great classroom management system when you want your class follow directions. I give “puntos” to my classes when students participate, use their Spanish in full sentences or when transitions are good, taking advantage of every minute that we have. At the end of each day or week we count how many points we have and if we have certain amount, we can celebrate with a “fiesta”, movie or games.

What is a 90 Second Social Studies Assignment?

90 Second Social Studies Assignments introduce students to a large amount of information in a relatively short amount of time. The 90 second time limit serves as both a way to keep students on task, and to promote the idea of summarizing key details. 90 Second Social Studies Assignments can cover concepts, historical figures, landmarks, and events. 

Why does this assignment use Google Slides?

One of the issues with student presentations is the transition time between student presenters. When the presentations are all on the same google slide, transitions become seamless. Google Slides also enables students to work simultaneously on the assignment, and for teachers to observe edits and work in real time.

This worksheet challenges students to use perspective taking skills and answer questions about someone they care about. Students are prompted to answer about the feelings/preferences of someone they know, the thoughts behind why they feel that way, and to look for something in common (thoughts, experiences, motivations) between themselves and this person.

This worksheet aims to give students a chance to practice "stepping in to someone else's shoes" and extending their understanding of that persons experience.

This set includes 10 different and unique versions of pennants. These pennant can be colored using markers, crayons, pencils and hung as a classroom décor by combining them and making a colorful banner. This activity can be an amazing back-to-school ice breaker and will allow students to get to know each other.

All pennants are of A4 size 8.27 x 11.69 inches, black and white and printable.

Research has indicated that brain breaks can help improve self-efficiency in the learning process. They also improve short-term memory, self-awareness, and the learners' knowledge.

This can be used and modified for 5th grade through 12th grade depending on your students' learning ability.

This BINGO card is a great ice breaker for the first days of French class! Each student receives a card and then moves around the classroom meeting new people and asking questions in English to get to know them better. When they find someone who can say "Oui" to a box, they will cross it off and write that person's name on it. The first person to get a BINGO reads their card out loud so the class can get to know their new friends as well!

This activity is designed for students with no previous French knowledge (MS French, Intro to Languages, Foundations of French, and French I), but my returning French 2 students loved it as well.

Preparing and presenting talk shows are a fun way for students to critically analyze text from a novel. This is a free resource to go along with The Giver, but could be adapted for use with any novel. I usually put the students in groups and have one person be the interviewer and other members be the interviewees. They get to choose the characters for the interviews. They have to use text evidence when preparing and answering the questions.
