6th Grade Summer Projects

Are you and your students dreaming of summer break? Why not engage them in this project-based learning activity and watch them light up with excitement about the possibilities of travel? Students are given a $5,000 budget and are tasked with planning their dream summer vacation. This resource has imperative soft skills embedded such as research, creating well-organized presentations, and budgeting.

Students are tasked with:

• Research: choosing a city and country and completing a country research section. Country research includes population, flag, food, music, famous native, safety, and more!
• Planning: choosing flights, lodging, and transportation
• Writing: blog entries and postcards home
• Organizing: creating an itinerary of activities within the given budget

This middle school math summer themed activity bundle contains 6 summer themed activities is the perfect way to end the year for 6th, 7th or 8th grade math students! They will be completing a color by number, scavenger hunt to collect summer vacation items, planning a summer picnic, completing a maze to figure out what items they are bringing on summer vacation and which they have to buy. They will also be giving advice to next years math students and playing "Find Someone Who" to see what their friends are doing this summer!
