Time allowance to complete:

5-10 minutes - read through the text individually.

40-50 minutes - answer questions using the text as guidance (including extension activity)

Time allowance to assess:

A class set of activities might take around 15-20 minutes to mark; the teacher can then send the students their marks automatically, which allows them to read back through their work. Nearly all answers are not automatically generated, but only require a small amount of work to assign points. This is because the aim is to get students writing answers and not to just have multiple choice options.

Ready to help your students MASTER their fractions? This Adding and Subtracting Fractions with unlike Denominators is a step-by-step, online activity to help your students solve and master adding and subtracting fractions. This activity is NO-PREP and easy to use immediately upon downloading!

For this worksheet, students solve 20 problems by adding and subtracting proper and improper fractions with unlike denominators. Students need to write down all the steps in order to solve each subtraction problem! This encourages them to show their work!

This resource is perfect because it is self checking! If a term is wrong it will become red, students get immediate feedback so they can correct the misconceptions before they become a more permanent part of their thinking. This helps you get more done and helps students grow independence in their learning!

I would use this resource after teaching a lesson on adding and subtracting fractions with unlike denominators to help students get hands on, interactive practice. This St. Patrick’s day basic ESL resource is filled with printable no prep activities for March. 

Students can write a newspaper article about catching a leprechaun or write about what they would do if they found a pot of gold. Students will learn about Celtic knots and make a simple one from paper. Finally, they can practice numbers 1 to 100 with a mystery image or practice St. Patrick’s day vocabulary.

Let your students practice while having fun with this engaging no-prep, St. Patrick's Day-themed, and self-checking one-step equations activity. Students will solve 20 one-step equations with rational coefficients using Google Sheets. I used it as a sub-plan in eighth grade and the kids loved it.

As they correctly answer the questions a mystery picture will be revealed.

The answers include only positive integers.
