This bundle contains five close reading activities about Ancient Egypt and influential people from the era; a timeline display or sorting activity; two biography writing units about Cleopatra and Tutankhamun; a discussion based writing unit about the greatest leader from the time; and an informational writing unit about Ancient Egypt.

Firstly, there are five close reading activities, or informational texts, about:

• An Overview of Ancient Egypt
• Cleopatra
• Tutankhamun
• Thutmose III
• Ramesses II

These activities require NO PREP and have a body of text that students need to read through thoroughly; then they can use the text to find the comprehension and grammar answers. All texts then have an extension activity for those fast finishers. Answers, for teacher use, are on the final page of each document.

Secondly, there are two biography writing units about Cleopatra and Tutankhamun. The units have been split into four separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each.

Then, there is a great classroom display and sorting activity that is perfect for introducing students to some of the key events of Ancient Egypt. There are 30 posters or task cards that include many of the key events and periods from the period. The posters look great as a display in the classroom and the cards are a brilliant introduction to Ancient Egypt. The displays and cards come both with dates and without dates, so the students can research the dates online before sorting the timeline. The cards look even better when laminated.

Then, there is an informational text writing unit about Ancient Egypt. The unit focuses on key facts about the history of the ancient civilization that dated from 3100 BC until the Roman invasion of Cleopatra's forces in 30 BC. The unit has been split into three separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each.

Finally, there is a discussion based writing unit discussing who was the greatest leader from Ancient Egypt. The unit has been split into four separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each.

The first lessons in each unit are interactive and involve students cutting out facts, and then sorting these facts into paragraphs. In the second lessons, students need to use these facts to write four paragraphs. Then, in the third lessons, children need to choose the most important facts and include these in an introduction; after this they need to answer several questions on a prompt sheet before writing up their conclusions. In the final lessons, students need to check their draft paragraphs for mistakes before writing up their work on to their neat copies on the templates provided.

The research and sorting activities are differentiated into two levels: with dates and without dates. Lower level students can sort the events using the dates, whilst higher level students can research the dates online before sorting the timeline.

The activities are online resource, that use Google Slides, and are linked to your Google Drive. They can be completed by students online using tablets or computers or printed to be completed in class. A December Google Forms reading comprehension bundle with ten individual activities about key events in December or famous figures that were either born or died in the month. The activities, which come in PDF format too, have an informational text with comprehension and grammar questions followed by an extension task, are about the following people or topics:

• Rosa Parks, who was arrested on the 1st December 1955 for refusing to give up her seat on a segregated bus; the event gave birth to the U.S. Civil Rights Movement.
• The Japanese attack on the U.S. naval base, Pearl Harbor, which took place on the 7th December 1941 and brought America into World War II.

Finally, there is an Aztec Empire Timeline Activity and Display. It is perfect for introducing students to the some of the key events and people of Aztec era. There are 25 posters or task cards that include many of the key events from the period.
