1. Choose a scenario card - Each scenario is presented as something you are ABOUT to do or say.

3. Based on your answers, decide if you should KEEP or CHANGE your plan.

How/When To Use Scenario Task Cards

• Role-Playing: Students can collaborate in pairs or groups to act out a variety of scenarios and demonstrate appropriate responses. Role-playing activities can also be used to show how skills are used improperly and then asking the 'audience' to help reenact properly. This activity can ultimately improve confidence, communication, and assertiveness skills.
• Icebreaker: This can be a great way to start a meeting, training session, or team-building activity. It’s also a great way to get students to get to know each other and buy into the purpose of an upcoming activity or lesson.
• Play Writing Exercise: Students can work in groups to create skits or scenes then perform the skit for the class.
• Writing Response: Students can be given a scenario to read and then write their responses. Students can switch papers with a partner who then reads their responses and determines whether they agree/disagree with their responses/approaches to these real-life scenarios.
• Discussion: Students can discuss the Social Scenario Task Cards in groups or whole class. They can discuss things like “What would you do?”, “Why would you do that?”, and “What are some other options you could consider?”

Bring SEL to the forefront of your upper elementary or middle school classroom with this bundle of cursive and printing handwriting practice pages. Students trace and practice one of 48 different positive affirmations, then respond to a related writing prompt. The cursive and printing pages are based on the same 48 affirmations and are presented in the same order, allowing you to differentiate for student needs while still giving the class the same writing prompt to respond to and discuss. Both of the bundled resources are 48 printable PDF pages long and can be a stand-alone products or work in conjunction with the 2023-24 Teacher Planner, 2023-24 Student Planner, and Question of the Day Google Slides. The same positive affirmations are included in all of the resources.

It's a great way to start the day off on a positive note while still sneaking in a bit of extra writing practice. If you print out copies and place them in sheet protectors in your students' binders, kids can use their whiteboard markers and practice the same affirmation each day for the whole week, which save on copies and ink.
