My Self-Esteem Spider Web - Counseling - CBT Affirmation - SPANISH VERSION
By All Therapy Resources
This Mini-Lesson explores positive self talk which is the key to building self esteem.. Persistent low self-esteem can impact an individual's life in many ways. The constant exposure to negative feelings can trigger depression, anger, guilt, shame, anxiety or sadness. These emotions can feel overwhelming at times.
One way that can really help is to change the negative self-talk into positive self-talk. This in turns help to build self-esteem. By improving self-esteem, the student is better able to emotionally regulate which serves to improve many areas of their lives. This mini-lesson serves to change the negative self-talk scripts that students often gravitate towards and move to a more positive and constructive self-talk script.
The example of a spider and its web is used. The more you tell yourself NEGATIVE self-talk, the more it will stick. The more you tell yourself positive self-talk, the more it will stick. Just like a spider catching food in it’s web. Once it’s caught…it's hard to get out. So, the students are empowered to make a choice - to have either positive or negative self talk stuck in their web!
This resource includes many self-talk affirmations and scripts that the students can read and include on their own “self-esteem” spider web. They can choose which ones they want to apply to them. Included are a couple of reflective exercise activity sheets to help students to reflect and gain insight into what is happening for them. This is a great resource for students who would like to explore self-talk and self-esteem!

"So You Think You Know Directions?!" : An SEL Classroom Activity
By Jeni Donath
"So You Think You Know Directions?!" is an absolute hit for my students! Prepare for a fun, engaging, and new favorite classroom activity for all! This activity focuses on multiple social emotional learning topics - attentive listening, awareness, team building, perseverance, respectful communication, and SO much more ALL in ONE activity! This digital download comes with everything you need for your next classroom lesson - detailed instructions, ready-to-print cards, and a guide for the teacher! Your students will all work together to complete one goal - get from person #1 to the last person, without skipping anyone in between! Each card comes with a different task that each student will be asked to complete. The cards must be completed in order, but you are only able to know what is on your card and no one else's and participants aren't able to talk (cue the attentiveness!) Didn't quite get it the first time... or the second... maybe it took a third try? No worries... cue the perseverance and respectful communication! A bonus to increase engagement - many of the cards include a task that is a bit silly (why not throw in fun ways to build confidence into this lesson, too?!) This lesson is truly a favorite for all with so many great SEL topics built in.

Impact of Your Words - Middle + High School SEL Activity and Interactive Lesson
By Jeni Donath
Creating a positive environment for students is a top priority, but it can be difficult when individuals lack an awareness of the impact of their words towards others, especially when it does not affect them in the same way. This activity brings awareness and a better understanding, while also increasing empathy and care toward others. I also like to remind students that we cannot control what other people chose to say and do, though we can take time to educate and create awareness, especially when something they are saying or doing is impacting us. This lesson can be customized to fit whatever statements would be most beneficial in recognizing within your school.

Feeling Included and Excluded Social Stories
By Sign with me TOD
This product includes 2 social stories - one that focuses on including others and one that focuses on excluding others. Therefore, students will see the difference between including their friends, family, cousins, etc. and excluding them, and how that feels.
Students will learn about the following: included and excluded and what these words mean, the tenses they are used in, an example of each in a sentence, the vocabulary word and its means - jumping to conclusions, because that can easily happen when someone may feel excluded from something, how you may feel when you are included or excluded, and what to do when you feel excluded to feel better.
The social stories include comprehension questions that relate with the feeling included and feeling excluded social stories. Some of the questions require students to put their feet in the shoes of the characters when they feel included or excluded by a friend, cousin, or family member.

Interactive Identity, Growth, + Change Activity - SEL Classroom Lesson
By Jeni Donath
This interactive, fun, and lighthearted activity is made for a creative way to discuss identity and the growth and change that comes with becoming who we hope to be and the impact we hope to make. This activity includes a digital download that is ready to go for your next classroom lesson - included in the presentation is a "ready for use" Google Slide (adjust and personalize if needed), an interactive icebreaker, directions for the main activity (Blindfolded Self-Portraits!), reflection questions, and discussion points throughout the lesson. Check the speaker notes section for extra tips and tricks for implementation! My students absolutely LOVED this activity and I especially loved the discussion that came with it. It is a must each year for my middle school students now - but I can envision this activity being successful for multiple grade levels - Upper elementary, middle, and high school! All you need to prep is a blank piece of paper for each student and this lesson is all ready for your use!
SUMMER Counseling Activities Lesson: Managing Anger & Feelings Messages
By All Therapy Resources
This activity is a perfect summer counseling lesson which encourages emotional awareness by encouraging individuals to reflect and gain insight into their various emotional states.
This summer counseling lesson resource encourages students to imagine that they are walking along the beach while they are in a particular emotional state and they come across a “message in a bottle” which is just perfect for what they need and want while they are in that emotional state.
Many people think of being happy and excited as good emotions and anger and sadness as being bad ones. Because of this, many people spend years trying to repress, block or avoid these emotions. But it is important to know that all emotions are normal. Three are no good or bad feelings or emotions. They are messages.
This summer counseling lesson activity includes the following:
- About this summer counseling activity
- Emotions are not good or bad handout
- Imagine This… (narrative)
- The process – What to do
- Examples of Completed bottles (sadness and anxiety)
- Bottle and Note templates for the following states (angry, sad, bored, confused, curious, disappointed, embarrassed, grumpy, excited, happy, anxious, proud, scared and shy)
"If your feelings had something important to say, what would they tell me.”
