Directions:

• Click on the circle to access a forced copy of the vocab log/list.
• Have students complete the vocabulary log using the words provided.
• They should also have time to study the words before this game.
• Divide the class into 4-6 teams.
• Each team should have a "speaker" to share answers.
• Have each team take turns answering a vocabulary question.
• Teams will only get 100 seconds to answer the question.
• If they can answer correctly, the team gets 1 point.
• Then, give that team a ball (a crumpled up piece of paper will do).
• If the team can make a basket into the trashcan, reward the team an extra point.

REVIEW GAME post-reading activity for novel Number the Stars by Lois Lowry.

This interactive card game has been specifically designed to review the novel with comprehension questions and answers woven into the playing of "THE RESISTANCE" review card game.

This printable card game is made for groups of 2-4 players with 64 playing cards and 32 question/answer cards. The game is made to be played similarly to the card game "WAR". *Cards can be printed in COLOR or BLACK and WHITE.

Review and practice parts of speech with games! In this hands-on grammar resource, students either roll a dice or spin a paperclip around a wheel in order to add new parts of speech to Grow A Sentence, or build a word bank to Build a New Sentence.

This resource includes mix and match worksheets and game board that come in both color and black and white. For added durability, it is recommended that teachers print game boards on cardstock and laminate them. This resource can be used in conjunction with the Parts of Speech Activities: Word Tiles for Sentence Building, Bingo, Bookmark resource. This is not your average spelling test!

Inspired by Among Us, learners have less than 15 seconds to race against the clock to identify the "imposter" word (the one that is spelled incorrectly). Here's the twist: The possible responses start disappearing after time. Incorrect answers lose points and correct answers earn points. Not only that, the faster learners answer correctly, the more points they earn. This game provides a fun way for learners to identify spelling errors and (hopefully) use these same detective skills to proofread their own work.

At less than 3 minutes in duration, this is perfect for early-morning warmups or midday energizers.

• I researched several search engines to identify challenging words and the incorrect ways they are spelled.
• I also researched misspelled words within grade levels and across the U.S. population.
• Lastly, I made sure to include words with unique spelling rules, such as doubling the final consonant and changing from "y" to "ies".
