6th Grade Back to School GATE

Are you looking for a way to create a positive classroom community at the beginning of the year? This quick activity will help you learn more about your students, create classroom connections, and can even be used as a bulletin board!

Students will complete a hexagon with their learning styles, character traits, personal goals, or favorites. They will then match similar sections with another student's hexagon to show a connection.

54 character traits, eight learning styles with definitions, ten presentation types, five group styles, and four noise levels are listed to help students choose how they learn best.

The activity concludes by creating a linking display as a visual reminder of each student's learning preferences and your class’ connections to each other.

It includes templates for five different types of hexagons. Have fun and get off on the right foot by creating classroom connections!
