Math Order of Operations Pixel Art Group Game

Engage your students with this fun no-prep, and self-checking order of operations group game activity. Students will practice order of operations while playing a group game using Google Sheets. I used it as a sub-plan in eighth grade and the kids loved it. As they correctly answer the questions a mystery picture will be revealed.

How to play:

Player 1 starts by solving their first problem and typing the answer in the first box of their answer section. If the answer is correct, the box will turn green. If it is incorrect, the box will remain red and Player 2 will answer their first problem. Continue taking turns until one of the players completes the mystery picture and wins the game!

Student responses won’t be visible so if a player has the opportunity to answer a question that was previously answered incorrectly, they can’t see that answer.

Three versions are included, ten questions each version:

- easy: no parentheses and no exponents;
