My Bucket List - Team Building Activity
By KJ Inspired Resources
Printable Bucket List
This bucket list is a list of 3 things you want to do in your life – students or staff will choose 3 and then share with a partner or out loud to a group. This is a great way to increase classroom community.
Use during New Year's, beginning or end of the school year, or as a fun brain break. It can also go with several stories like:
"How Full is Your Bucket" by Mary Reckmeyer
"Have You Filled a Bucket Today?" by David Messing
"Stay: A Girl, a Dog, a Bucket List" by M. Sarah Klise

New Year's Eve Story - Reading Activity
By Early Childhood Essentials
This is a 1-page activity with answer key (which is 3 pages, for easier reading). Page count includes info and contact pages.
SOME NOTES
This is meant as a pre- or post-assessment. Sometimes English is tricky (okay, more than sometimes).
VERBS:
Words like "don't" appear in this story activity, and as a contraction and auxiliary verb, I am not counting it as a verb learners will easily identify. If someone does circle it as a verb, then kudos to them! Maybe they get extra credit!
Any other words that take similar forms or that may cause discrepancy may appear, but the answer key shows the words I meant to be correct.
Use discretion when assessing students, as some words may not be on most students' radar.
NOUNS:
At least twice, a proper noun appears. "Distance" and "there" are also included as nouns, albeit spatial and almost abstract ones. "Past" also is included as a noun, a time-based one that may not easily be spotted. I am not including pronouns (you, we, etc.) as nouns in this case.
ADJECTIVES:
"Folding" could trip some learners up since it in many cases is a verb, but in the story's example, it's acting as an adjective (folding chairs). If anyone circles it as a verb, I say it's up to you whether you count it as such, but keep consistent between students. Otherwise, it's fairly straightforward and there aren't many.

NEW YEAR Chart Activity (print + digital)
By Early Childhood Essentials
Update Dec 2023: Now Easel / digital option!
Anything "Easel" or digital use might operate or format differently from TeachShare, with their "Remix" feature.
Inside you'll find a simple sheet children can fill out when they have free time or end an activity early. The year at the top can be written each year.
The purpose is to get children thinking about, well, their thoughts*****! Also to think about their wants, fears, and goals.
<*metacognition is the act of thinking about thoughts**>**
They don't have to fill out the whole entire set of bullets, but encourage at least a few in each column. As the teacher or parent, you can guide them on how to process those wants/fears and reach those goals with practical, achievable steps.
I've provided a few examples for each column.
If you like this product or others, or you want to stay notified about new ones, consider giving me a follow if you haven't!
