Valentine's Day Parts of Speech: Verbs & Nouns Extension for Adverbs & Adjective

By E•Fish•ient Teaching

This is the perfect page to help your students practice their verbs and nouns. They will start at the beginning with cupid and color each verb and noun a certain color. That will lead them to a pair at the bottom. If all your students need is practice with verbs and nouns, then that is all they can do. There is a small extension for students to then color code the adverbs, adjectives, and conjunctions that are on the page. This is perfect for differentiation with students because you can just staple the extra extension onto the students page and they can do the assignment. This is perfect for Valentine's Day, but can be used any time of the year.

Schiffe versenken German Verb Conjugation Battleship

By Miss Clever Cookie

My favourite game to practice German verb conjugations (schwache, starke, trennbare, reflexive, Misch-, Modalverben, Verben auf -eln und -ern**.** It can be used in any tense. No prep, just PRINT AND GO.

This is my go-to game when I need to drill some grammar into my students. It's by far the most efficient grammar game. I love it because it's so easy to use. And my students love it because it doesn't feel like learning when, in fact, they do a TON of learning. We can easily spend the whole lesson playing battleship and they want to keep on playing even after the bell rings.

It's also a great activity for substitute lessons or when I'm in a time press and don't have much time to prepare for a lesson.

How to play:

  • It can be played in pairs or in small teams
  • Hide your ships in the left field. They mustn't touch.
  • Form sentences in order to "hit" the enemy ships in the right field.
  • If your enemy hits your ship, indicate that in the left field. If you hit your enemy's ship, mark it down in the right field. If you miss, mark it down as well. If you hit your enemy's ship, have another go.
  • To win, sink all of your enemy's ships before he sinks yours.

Contains:

  • detailed instructions + picture instructions
  • 9 battleship sheets, each covering different grammar
  • each sheet contains simplified instructions

The 9 sheets focus on:

  1. schwache Verben - weak verbs
  2. starke Verben - strong verbs
  3. Verben auf -eln und -ern - verbs ending in -eln and -ern
  4. trennbare Verben - separable verbs
  5. reflexive Verben mit Akkusativ - reflexive verbs accusative
  6. reflexive Verben mit Dativ - reflexive verbs dativ
  7. Modalverben + wissen - modal verbs and the verb wissen
  8. Mischverben - mixed verbs
  9. and as a BONUS ein und kein im Akkusativ - ein and kein in accusative

Practice CONCISE Writing

By Early Childhood Essentials

This activity can act as a pre- or post- assessment, but it can be homework if that’s your thing or some in-class practice.

It’s a 5-page, 10-question activity with optional extra credit page.

I’ve included a modified / differentiated version to accommodate learners who struggle with this. That version has two options instead of the normal three.

This could work for a wide range of age groups, but I've picked the range I imagine might use it most. I'd love feedback though! If you leave a review with age / grade used, that would help me tighten the range it's best for.
