3rd Grade Sight Word Sentences Booklet - 41 words
By Sign with me TOD
This product is made for:
As students are learning the 41 - 3rd grade sight words in this product, they will be provided with each word, an example of the word used in a sentence, and the opportunity to make up a sentence themselves using the word. I find that with my students who are Deaf/hard of hearing/ELL, when they make up sentences using each newly learned sight word, it helps them to remember how to spell the word, the meaning, and how it is used. My students love booklets of any kind that they can refer back to. Once they have come up with their sentences, they can include pictures that they print and cut out, draw pictures freehand, or find pictures in a magazine that they can add to each page of the 3rd grade sight word booklet that matches each sentence they come up with. This gives students the opportunity to connect what they are learning about in the classroom with their own personal interests. This booklet is perfect for students that are on grade level as well as students who require instructional information to be adapted.
If you are interested in the product above, the sight word checklist may be of interest to you as well.

Social Skills Apologizing Scenario Task Cards and Worksheets (Grades 2-4)
By Queen's Educational Resources
***Please note, these same TASK CARDS (only) are also included in the following discounted resource: Apologizing Task Cards and Worksheets Packet Grades 1-2
ABOUT THIS RESOURCE
This resource includes:
------ 20 Scenario Worksheets (same scenarios in the Task Cards - contains two questions)
------ 20 BROWN Scenario Task Cards with Questions
------ 20 BROWN Scenario Task Cards without Questions
------ 20 B&W Scenario Task Cards with Questions
------ 20 B&W Scenario Task Cards without Questions
This pack of 20 Social Skills Scenario Task Cards and Worksheets highlight real-life social scenarios and situations centered around APOLOGIZING and can be used to help young "kiddos" of all levels and abilities (in grades 2-4) to practice and build social skills. These highly relevant scenarios expose young learners to skills they need to interact with others effectively, forge positive relationships, improve social skills and behavior, and most importantly, build confidence in managing situations and apologizing when necessary.
WORKSHEETS
The Social Skills Scenario Worksheets contain the same scenarios in the Task Cards. There are two questions on each worksheet (for each scenario). Students are asked to read the scenario and think and write about how each person (in the scenario) should handle the situation/problem. It is important for students to consider both perspectives and determine how both individuals can appropriately respond to the situation presented. They are also asked the "why" question to help them reflect about why these actions are appropriate.
Here's an example:
Scenario:
During lunch time, you bump into Lily. She drops her lunch on the floor.
Questions:
1. What should you do or say to Lily in this situation?
2. How should Lily handle this situation and why?
TASK CARDS
The Task Cards come in 4 different formats: B&W with questions, B&W without questions, Brown with questions, and Brown without questions. You can print them out on gloss paper or regular paper and laminate them. You may also organize them in a binder ring and use in small groups.
How/When To Use Scenario Task Cards
Role-Playing: Students can collaborate in pairs or groups to act out a variety of scenarios and demonstrate appropriate responses. Role-playing activities can also be used to show how skills are used improperly and then asking the 'audience' to help reenact properly. This activity can ultimately improve confidence, communication, and assertiveness skills.
Icebreaker: This can be a great way to start a meeting, training session, or team-building activity. It’s also a great way to get students to get to know each other and buy into the purpose of an upcoming activity or lesson.
Play Writing Exercise: Students can work in groups to create skits or scenes then perform the skit for the class.
Writing Response: Students can be given a scenario to read and then write their responses. Students can switch papers with a partner who then reads their responses and determines whether they agree/disagree with their responses/approaches to these real-life scenarios.
Discussion: Students can discuss the Social Scenario Task Cards in groups or whole class. They can discuss things like “What would you do?”, “Why would you do that?”, and “What are some other options you could consider?”
***Please note: These same Task Cards along with 100 differentiated worksheets are included in the following resource: Social Skills Apologizing Packet (Grades 1-3).
Additionally, the Apologizing Social Skills Task Cards (Grades 2-3) (which is included in this resource) can also be purchased separately in my store.
