This product was made for students to learn the following: Vocabulary words - delegates, compromise, federal system, two houses of Congress - Senate and House of Representatives, the three branches of government - Executive, Judicial, and Legislative Branch

In this product, students will learn about delegates - who they were and what they did, and how long they worked to create the United States Constitution, the delegates disagreed with one another, but they did disagree on what should be included in the Constitution, why they disagreed with one another, and how they came to a compromise, Congress - where it is located, who meets in the United States Capitol building - the two houses - the Senate and the House of Representatives - how they were different based on members, length of terms, age for members, organization, and how many per state, the federal government and what they do and what the state government and what they do, the three branches of government - Executive, Judicial, and Legislative Branch - what they do, how they are different, how they work together, and how they each have specific jobs, and the system of Checks and Balances that is followed within the government and why.

The notes are adapted to meet your student's individual learning needs. After reviewing and discussing the notes, they will answer comprehension questions to review what was discussed on previous pages, students will read the 3 Branches of Government chart, and answer questions based on each of these provided. At the end of the product, students are provided with a review that includes multiple choice questions and short answer questions.

How can I incorporate poetry into my daily/weekly lessons? You may have asked yourself this question. Solid Read Alouds is the answer! Solid Read Alouds connect poetry to your classroom read aloud. Solid Read Alouds not only connect poetry but enhance your curriculum with monthly themes and national observance days. The Reptile Solid Read Aloud is designed for a daily one week time period. Writing a narrative story is a perfect project that gives students time to write about an event that happened in their life or an event that they made up. This packet includes information to share with your students about what a narrative story is, why we write a narrative story, and who we write a narrative story for. This packet also includes an example showing the process that is used to write with a narrative story and the steps that are taken to add onto a narrative story to be sure it includes a beginning, middle and end. On the last few pages, it includes a template to help students come up with possible narrative story ideas, write about the characters, setting, and plot of a narrative story, and space to write a rough draft as well as a final draft.
