3rd Grade Rubrics

A Proofreading Checklist for students to monitor and proofread their own work. This Checklist includes important components needed in a quality paragraph. The following handout allows students to write a rough draft and then use this checklist to proofread their paragraph. This generic writing rubric is the perfect grading tool for book reviews, essays, and journals. It features 5 areas of writing to grade, for a score of either 1, 3, or 5.

This document includes two half-page writing checklists that students can use to self evaluate their writing pieces. The grading rubric is simple and easy to follow. It allows students to grade themselves on a four point grading scale based on writing quantity, quality, and neatness.
