Print these fun bookmarks on colored or white cardstock and provide them to your students. The goal is to challenge the students to read and keep up with the number of books they read. Once they have finished a book, they are to color it to reflect they have finished the book.

You may also choose to laminate and them and have them use a permanent marker to cross out the emoji.

Getting out and exploring the colors and textures of fall is a great introduction to nature for all students! With our fall scavenger hunt have adventures in nature and have fun practicing counting to five and identifying colors.

These daily language practice cards work with PowerPoint for Microsoft Teams and Google Slides for Google Classroom. The cards have interactive pieces that students can click and drag to boost student engagement.

These daily language practice activities are aligned to 3rd grade standards, but work great for remediation for struggling older students, reteaching from the summer or COVID-19 slide, challenging gifted younger students, or differentiation within grade level. Students will be able to show prior knowledge using pictures and also learn about dinosaur facts they didn't already know with created sentences. You can also write these sentences on sentence strips to match to pictures. This is great for any Elementary classroom or ESL class. You can use many ESL strategies to teach these dinosaur facts. The second part is about dinosaur body parts using the T Rex, Stegosaurus, and Anklysaurus. You can add to and remove slides as you feel necessary.

Some social and emotional skills needed to collaborate with each other on a readers theatre performance are:

To ensure the students are set up for success, before they are sent off into the wild for readers theatre there needs to be guidelines and clear expectations. An example of some Readers Theatre rules could be

There are many out there to suit a whole range of different year levels and themes!

I’ve created these social and emotional learning readers theatre scripts for years 3-6, with each focusing on a different area.

The Kindness Crew 

In this Readers Theatre script, your students will meet the unique characters of the Kindness Crew: Charlie, Grace and Emma, as they embark on a mission to teach Zog, an alien from Planet Meany, about the importance of kindness.

The Inner Voices

In this Readers Theatre script, your students will meet Emma and Liam, whose ‘inner champion’ and ‘inner critic’ accompany them for a day at school. Inner Champion offers positivity, encouragement and kindness… Whilst Inner Critic is negative, unhelpful and unkind.

The Emotion Busters

This is a PDF Form with the Third Hundred Fry's Instant Words. As the student reads the words, the assessor touches the box next to the word if it is correct. The form automatically counts the number correct and displays it in the upper right corner. There is also a table to add date and number correct to see improvement over time. This works very well on an iPad with an app like Adobe Expert. I like to use the Fry's Instant Word PowerPoint presentation in conjunction with this form.
