Electricity Interactive Science Labs for Electrical Energy Experiments & Reading
By Curious Classroom Adventures
Science comes to life in the lab! Engage your students in exploring electricity and circuits with this set of interactive science labs. This product contains 6 lab investigations for electricity and 1 final project. Each lesson introduces a concept and outlines a lab to provide the students with experiential learning to support the understanding of the concept. Each lesson contains a concept poster, background knowledge for the teacher, materials list, lab procedures, ½ page lab report pages for Science INBs, and full-size lab report pages. The lab reports include 4 sections: question; hypothesis; experiment-observe-collect data; and conclusion
These labs use wire, batteries, light bulbs, and switches. While you can purchase all the lab equipment materials individually, the easiest way solution is have some circuit kits for your classroom. There is basic circuit kit on Amazon for #13.21 as of this writing (09/2017)
Lesson 1: Electricity is a form of energy that flows in circuits.
Lab 1: Light a bulb
Lesson 2: Some materials conduct electricity while other materials insulate it.
Lab 2: Human conductor test
Lesson 3: Switches can open and close electrical circuits.
Lab 3: Turn it off and turn it on
Lesson 4: Electrical energy is shared in a series circuit.
Lab 4: A series of bulbs
Lesson 5: In a parallel circuit, the electrical energy flowing to each component is maintained.
Lab 5: Turn off 1/3 of the lights.
Lesson 6: Electrical energy energy can be transformed into other forms of energy.
Lab 6: Make an electromagnet
Final Project: Make a light up quiz board
