There are SO many spelling patterns that we as educators need to know to effectively teach our students how to properly spell! This handout covers what I think are the most important patterns that students need to know! This is what I wish I had to help explain to students when and why we are spelling words a certain way!

You can provide this to students if you would like but I made it more in mind for you!

It is important for students to know about syllable types and HOW to break them apart. It is also important for students to know the definitions of suffixes and prefixes so that we can grow their vocabulary!
