3rd Grade Numbers Montessori

Apple Themed Math Activities - Math Center - Fall Activities (Bundle)

By Morgan Jeffries

Fall is such a fun time of the year and the Apple Theme is one of my favorites during this season! There are SO many fun activities you can do with young learners to go with the this theme. This bundle has a few different activities that are both hands on and fun. Below is a list of what math activities are included in this bundle.

Complete The Pattern Activity:

There are #113 different apple patterns ranging from simple to more complex for your students to identify and create. There are #6 different apple colors that are included in these patterns. This activity is perfect to include during rotations and center times. I would laminate the pattern pages as well as the apple pieces for better durability.

Play-doh Mats & Ten Frames:

Who doesn't love play-doh?? And what better way is there than incorporating early math concepts and counting into some play-doh fun. These play-doh mats have both numbers that your students can practice identifying and forming with play-doh as well as ten frames for them to practice one-to-one correspondence and counting. I promise this activity will not disappoint! The play-doh mats include numbers 1-10.

Count & Match File Folder Game:

File folder games are so convenient and easy to put together for your student's independent activities. This file folder game has #2 pages of apple baskets with numbers 1-10 on them that you will attach to a file folder. There are also counting cards with different numbers of apples on them for your students to count the amount of apples and match it to the corresponding number.

Apple Counting Book | Mini Readers:

There is #2 pages of colorful apples as well as black and white apples. You can have your student’s practice holding scissors and cut the apples out or if they are not ready for that step you can cut them out yourself as well. Once the apples are cut out they will read the sentence and then glue the correct amount of apples to each tree. There is a black and white apple tree book (that you can have your student’s color) as well as a colorful one as well depending on which one you would like to use.

At the end of either book the last page also has an area where they read how many apples should be on each line and then draw the correct amount of apples according to what the number says. This bundle of activities will be a great addition to your math center during this season! Please let me know if you have any comments and/or questions!

Teachers, use these shopping cards on their own or with the matching candy store price tags to increase engagement with your Montessori Lower Elementary students.

The lists are divided into four levels of increasing difficulty. Currency symbols are NOT used so that the lists can be used by anyone in any country. Also note that the prices are not at all realistic as I had to represent a huge variety of numbers.

Montessori Math Manipulatives: Make it Yourself Stamp Game (Low Ink Version)

By Jessica Renee Montessori - JRMontessori

This is an affordable and printable alternative to the traditional Montessori Stamp Game with a few amazing differences: 1) it includes stamps for 10,000; 100,000; and 1,000,000 2) the stamps can be double-sided so they will always be facing upwards and children won't have to deal with flipping them over 3) the stamps are slightly larger than the traditional stamps to make them easier for small fingers to manipulate. Also included, is 8 different options for place value labels that can go at the top of a child's work mat to help them stay organized.

I've designed the stamp file to be as practical and easy to prepare as possible. There are guidelines to help you cut and you only need to print as many copies as you need. Start with one copy and print more as your children move on to more complicated questions.

This is the low-ink version of these stamps, but I also have a full-ink version if you'd prefer something more colorful. Check it out!

Once you get these stamps prepared you can use them for addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division questions. See my Stamp Game Operations Bundle for task cards.

☀ PDF with teacher information (preparation and basic presentation suggestions)

☀ Double-sided PDF with stamps (from units to millions!), circles, and skittles. Print single-sided or double-sided so that your stamps will always be facing upwards!

This Halloween-themed math activity focuses on continuing and completing different patterns. It teaches students how to identify a pattern and continue it using different halloween themed items. There are a total of #30 different patterns for your students to complete. This is a great independent math activity for your students during small groups or whenever you want to use it!

I would print and laminate this activity for better durability and then store the remaining halloween pieces in a container of some sort so they don’t get lost after you cut them out.

I hope you and your students enjoy this product!

By Jessica Renee Montessori - JRMontessori

Get ready to explore the world of numbers with the Hundred Chart Activity Cards with Colored Beads! These math activity cards provide an engaging and colorful alternate way for your lower elementary and Montessori students to practice numbers from 1-120.

With these two-inch by two-inch cards, students can learn to recognize and make patterns with colored numbers in green, blue, and red - uniquely designed to evoke the Montessori method. They can also practice counting with the numerals on the opposite side of the card. With a convenient pocket chart, kids can easily manage and organize the cards for more interactive learning.

You'll get two versions of the cards (color and B&W) with this resource so students benefit from a variety of learning opportunities, plus you'll also receive easy-to-follow instructions that’ll help you get this activity up and running quickly. Best of all, it uses colored beads to show the patterns in a much clearer way, which is sure to capture young minds and spark their imaginations.
