For this activity, you and your students will need access to Google Sheets. For best use, each student should have their own device.

Perfect for reinforcing decimal operations, this activity challenges students to practice adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing decimals to reveal a hidden pixel art picture with a HAPPY NEW YEAR theme. 19 Problems Total. How it works:

• Students will solve a series of adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing decimal problems, each corresponding to a color or section of a pixelated image.
• As they evaluate the expressions correctly, they "fill in" the picture, pixel by pixel, revealing a fun design at the end.
• The more problems they solve, the clearer the image becomes, providing instant feedback and a sense of accomplishment!

Welcome your students back from winter break with a fun array New Year themed Google Classroom assignment. First, there is a video reviewing arrays for students to watch. Students can then manipulate images on the slides to create an array and then type the multiplication equation that goes with the array. There are 5 examples for students to complete, each with a different New Year theme picture to use for the array.

The Google Slide file is embedded as a link that will create a new copy for you in your Google Drive. It can then be shared with students or posted on Google Classroom.

Ways to use:

1. Meet the Teacher Event Invitations: Send personalized postcards to each student before the school year begins, inviting them and their families to a "Meet the Teacher" event. This allows students to get to know their new teacher in a relaxed and friendly setting.
2. Personalized Message: Leave a blank space on the back of the card for a handwritten note. Take a moment to write a short, encouraging message to each student. Mention how excited you are to have them in your class and share a positive expectation for the upcoming year.
