Plant Adaptations and Informational Reading Passages and Animal Adaptation Informational Readings and Activities. There are ten informational reading passages about plant adaptations and ten informational passages about animal adaptations. There are follow-up activities for each. This is a great activity to do jigsaw style.
It also contains both our plant and animal adaptations poster sets. There are photographs of each ecosystem within these resources.
It was made for the NGSS 3-LS2 Ecosystems: Interactions, Energy, and Dynamics. It covers the ecosystems:
- desert
- ocean
- arctic tundra
- wetlands
- temperate forest
The passages were written with third graders in mind, but the information is very interesting and complex and would be useful for upper grades as well. Even I learned things while researching the adaptations!
