This is an interactive online and customizable activity, using Google Slides, to practice identifying common nouns and proper nouns and capitalizing proper nouns correctly. This Slides file consists of 20 slides with a ready made activity about common nouns and proper nouns on each of the first 16 no-prep slides, and 4 blank templates for you to customize with sentences / lists of nouns for your students for additional practice. Common nouns and Proper Nouns Editable no-print activity UK version for Slides

This is an interactive online activity, using Google Slides, to practice identifying common nouns and proper nouns and remembering to use capital letters for proper nouns. This Slides file consists of 20 slides with a ready made activity about common nouns and proper nouns on each of the first 16 no-prep slides, and 4 blank templates for you to customize with sentences / lists of nouns for your students for additional practice. Slide 2 can also be customized with a list of nouns & proper nouns of your choice. Use the no-prep slides to start with, then customize the others for review or extra practice.

You could use this file on an interactive whiteboard in the classroom, you could share the file with students and give them each their own copy, or have them collaborate on a copy of the file in pairs or small groups (good for distance learning.)

To use this file, you will need a Google account.

PLEASE NOTE: This file is very similar in content to my Google Slides and Canva activities - the difference is that the more American vocabulary and references have been changed to be more appropriate for students in the UK.

Task cards are so versatile. Here are just a few ideas.

  • Scavenger Hunt in the room-Hide task cards around the room and have students find and solve all the cards. 
  • Hang task cards on the walls for Solve the Room.
