This creative Winter Concert Decorations: Art Unit was designed to be printed and displayed as examples while you teach. Use this Google Slide file to display these beautiful images one-by-one on the big screen. For this assignment, I asked students to get with a partner or into small groups and brainstorm subject matter, orientation, and theme of the overall composition. Plus, decide which group member(s) will be in charge of what to draw and where to draw it. Students will need to sketch out ideas first inside a sketchbook, transfer the sketches to Final Copy Paper, outline the large image, and start coloring in everything with crayon. The letter to parents has a female, male, and gender-neutral option. It also has three background color options and similar black-and-white backgrounds.

There are TWO DIFFERENT LETTERS (one for BEFORE testing and one for AFTER testing). Each letter comes in 4 full-color border choices (as well as black-and-white versions).

If you'd like to print the letters as is, you may write in the student's name and your own signature. Just for reference, the font is Part of Me by Kimberly Geswein and the size is 17. THE BODY OF THE LETTERS ARE NOT EDITABLE.

This sorting activity for growth and fixed mindset is perfect for any 2nd grade and UP classroom. You will find all sorting sticky notes available in full color and in black and white (as well as a set of smaller cards if teachers would like to print a set for each student).

You will also find opportunities for students to reflect on their own experiences. Each fixed mindset statement is also listed on a separate sheet so that students can practice reframing statements from fixed mindset to growth mindset.

Please note that if your students are not familiar with fixed mindset and growth mindset concepts, they will need some introductory instruction and information prior to using these sorting sticky notes.
