This English Language Arts Task Cards BUNDLE was created for educators who teach multi-level students in the area of language arts (or speech pathology). This file includes ALL 50 of the ELA task cards resources in my shop as of 9/4/20.

NOTE: This bundle does NOT include BOOM CARDS™. All of the files in this bundle DO include a digital distance learning option in Google™. All the files include Google Slides™ and the majority of them also include Google Forms™ (those that have multiple choice options on the task cards).

Help your reluctant writers practice their grammar through building and punctuating sentences, expanding sentences with parts of speech, and combining sentences with this activity bundle of 9 printable and digital activities. Ideal for both GenEd and SpEd teachers with struggling and reluctant writers.

Students also begin writing pieces by building word banks in order to tell a short story or write expository and opinion writing pieces. Throughout each of the activities, students communicate their ideas and collaborate with peers while giving and accepting peer feedback during the revision process.

I have used each of these resources with my students over the years. I have found that low-stakes writing activities that include an element of game-like fun and peer collaboration work best. It turns the most reluctant of writers into a writing enthusiast.

SHADES OF MEANING:

These shades of meaning task cards and anchor charts are Common Core aligned for 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade.

This shades of meaning activity includes:

• four instructional pages (anchor charts with explanations of shades of meaning adjectives)
• 36 task cards with three different questions types
• an answer sheet
• an answer key

Shades of meaning can be confusing for students and this product provides criteria and practice for understanding the intensity of different adjectives.

CONTEXT CLUES:

These context clues task cards and activities were created for 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade. It requires students to use context to make meaning, as well as identify the words or phrases that helped them understand the meaning of an unknown word.

This context clues task cards product includes:

• anchor charts that will help students identify clues in text
• 34 task cards on half sheets
• answer sheet
• answer key

These task cards can be used in stations, small groups, centers, or for early finishers and includes the answer sheets as well as the answer keys.

HOMOPHONES:

This Homophones activity was created for 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students.
This file includes:

• a 10-page list of upper level homophones (over 260 words with definitions)
• 36 task cards
• an answer sheet
• an answer key

The assumption is that students have been introduced to homophones in the primary grades prior to their introduction to this product. Lower level homophones lists and task cards are available in my store if you need them.

CAUSE AND EFFECT:

These cause and effect activities with anchor charts and task cards are common core aligned for 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade.

This product includes:

• 4 instructional pages (an explanation of cause and effect as well as a trick to remember which part is the cause and which part is the effect)
• 36 task cards
• an answer sheet

The instructional pages will clear up cause and effect confusion if students are working on the task cards independently. Use this product in stations, small groups, whole class, centers, or for early finishers.

Looking for fun activities and games to teach and review Parts of Speech? With over 350 color-coded word tiles including: nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, prepositions, conjunctions, plus 84 punctuation mark cards, your upper elementary or middle school student will expand beyond basic sentences to build sentences that are detail-rich and descriptive. Also included are 16 Parts of Speech Bingo Cards (also includes a blank bingo card) and a Parts of Speech Reference Bookmark.

This resource is perfect as a whole class activity or small group center activity, and includes both color-coded cards and black and white word cards. It also includes basic punctuation marks (period, comma, question mark, and exclamation marks) as well as more advanced punctuation marks (colons, semicolons, hyphens, and quotation marks) to allow students to experiment with more complex sentence structures.

My 5th graders LOVED this resource. When I first introduced the sentence building activity to the kids, each student was given a noun, verb, and adjective. They went to their seats to build a sentence, then met their peers at the center of the room to read their sentence and exchange one of their word tiles, returning to their seat to build a new sentence. The kids said they enjoyed being creative and that it felt like they were playing with trading cards.

This Snip and Snap activity will break down each component of RACECE (Restate, Answer, Cite Evidence, Explain, Cite Evidence, and Explain). Students will read nonfiction passages and practice identifying the missing pieces of the RACECE framework.
