Looking for a way to incorporate the Little Blue Truck books into your music classroom or jazz up your reading time of the Little Blue Truck series? These songs written for the Little Blue Truck books summarize what happens in the book while using the almost the same exact melody. Once your students have learned the first melody for Little Blue Truck, the melody stays mostly the same but the lyrics change with each different Little Blue Truck book that you own. This makes it easier to plug into future lessons involving these books. Included in this collection are Little Blue Truck, Little Blue Truck Time for School, Little Blue Truck's Halloween, Little Blue Truck's Christmas, Little Blue Truck Makes a Friend, Good Night Little Blue Truck, and Little Blue Truck's Valentine's Day. For grades PreK-2nd grade. Ukulele chords included for accompaniment purposes.

Use these books to help your students learn the triplet rhythm! The rhythm and beat charts help with decoding triplets and the worksheets provided help with the practice of writing a triplet rhythm. In addition, you can discuss and explore social emotional learning with "A Hug is for Holding Me." Some lessons are adaptable for grades PreK-3rd grade while the Tanabata Star Festival Lesson is for the upper grades.

Use these chants to introduce more literature into the classroom and make the books you are using relevant to music! Use the chant to "Freeda the Cheetah" to explore movement and play along with rhythm sticks. Follow up with a lesson on rhyming words. The chant for "One Lonely Fish" is perfect for keeping a steady beat and making this book more engaging for your little ones. Use the chant in "Pokko and the Drum" to play along with Pokko the frog on her adventures. "The Very Quiet Cricket" is great for teaching whisper voice. Finally, try to wake up the elephant from his sleep in "Wakey, Wakey, Elephant"! Use the additional activities with the some of the chants to extend your lessons. Can be used across several grade levels PreK-2nd grade.

A wonderful book and extension lesson to teach children about caring for others! Use this book to deepen social emotional learning in your classroom while still teaching music. Discuss why hugging and caring for others is important, how children feel when they hug/are hugged by someone and practice caring by rocking stuffies/dolls to the song that I wrote for this book. Additional chants are great for practicing rhythm, steady beat, ta and ti-ti and triplet rhythm decoding. There is even a worksheet for additional practice which can be used digitally. Use drums and rhythm sticks for the chant if desired. Great as a Valentine's Day activity or any time of year! Great for ages PreK-3rd and the lesson can be used with/without the book.
