My students LOVED creating this activity and had a whole new understanding of the meaning of self control and taking ownership of their own actions and choices!! They are still talking about it and reflecting on the activity as a whole. I encouraged my students to keep their remotes close by when they needed reminders, too! Win, win. Growth Mindset and Perspective Taking - An SEL Activity for Elementary Students

By Jeni Donath

Bring having a growth mindset and positive perspective to life with this activity! It is fun for the whole class and they get a great reminder to take with them! This activity comes set with everything you need to discuss and demonstrate having a growth mindset, perspective taking, and holding a positive point of view. It also pairs nicely with the short story (Rosie's Glasses), but can be used as a stand alone activity as well!

Talk about "which view would you choose" and then have students color away! Depending on the amount of time you have, have students cut out their glasses and glue the rectangles together, or use it as a fun take home follow up activity!
