Reading Comprehension Escape Room 2nd Grade Non Fiction
By Jaime Kuenzi
What better way to engage your students with reading comprehension than an escape room! This Beach themed escape room will provide your students with targeted practice in vocabulary and non fiction reading. Students will need to reference the text several times to complete each challenge and reveal the secret code! Your students will get an engaging activity that is NO PREP for you other than printing.
Challenges
Each challenge will give the students a number, and when they have completed all challenges correctly, they have the code to escape! The product includes a passage, 4 challenges and answer keys, and answer sheet.

Fiction or Nonfiction: Sentence Bowl Activity
By Early Childhood Essentials
Grab a bowl, hat, or box, and take these sentences, cut them (and laminate them if you want), toss em around, and let your students read and discuss what could be fictional and nonfictional. As this was meant to be an introductory lesson, maybe they won't know those words yet, so you can accept "realistic" and "not realistic," or whatever language works for your classroom! More details within!
