This is a non-traditional Frida Kahlo cross-curricular lesson that elementary students love. Perfect for celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month, September 15 - October 15, this engaging lesson combines information about Frida Kahlo and her love for animals and combines it with one of her famous self-portraits (The Frame, 1938) while bringing social-emotional learning into your classroom.
This resource includes 3 cross-curricular projects - the Frida Kahlo portrait, a spider monkey, and a macaw drawing project, plus 2 different frame projects to use with the projects.
