Writing Process Posters Engineering Themed
By Science and STEAM Team
Each writing poster has the stage of the writing process in bold letters, along with instructions for what should be done at each stage. These writing posters will help you and your students keep track of where they are during writer's workshop. I laminate and hang the posters as well as prepare clothespins with each child's name on one. As a child works on a piece of writing his/her clip is moved to the appropriate stage of the writing process.

Fable - Blank Writing Template
By Sean Alexander Dennison
Using a fable blank template created by another educator in the classroom can be beneficial for several reasons:
Creative Expression: The fable blank template allows students to exercise their creativity and imagination. By filling in the template with their own characters, setting, and moral lesson, students have the opportunity to express their unique ideas and storytelling abilities. This promotes individuality and encourages students to think outside the box.
Ownership and Engagement: When students have the opportunity to fill in a fable blank template, they become active participants in the storytelling process. This sense of ownership over the narrative can greatly increase engagement and enthusiasm for the activity. Students are more likely to be invested in their work and take pride in their creations.
Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving: Filling in a fable blank template requires students to think critically and make decisions about the various elements of the story. They must consider character traits, plot development, and the intended moral lesson. This process enhances their problem-solving skills and encourages them to think analytically about storytelling structures.
Adaptability and Flexibility: A fable blank template allows for adaptability and flexibility in the classroom. Educators can tailor the template to suit the specific learning objectives or themes they want to explore. They can also modify the template based on the grade level or individual needs of their students. This adaptability ensures that the fable activity aligns with the curriculum and educational goals.
Collaboration and Peer Learning: Using a fable blank template can foster collaboration and peer learning opportunities. Students can work together in pairs or small groups to fill in the template, sharing ideas and perspectives. This collaborative process promotes communication skills, active listening, and respect for others' opinions. Additionally, students can share their completed fables with their classmates, allowing for further learning and discussion.
Extension Activities: A fable blank template can serve as a foundation for extended learning activities. Educators can encourage students to illustrate their fables, create audio recordings, or even perform dramatic interpretations. These extension activities enhance students' creativity, presentation skills, and multimedia literacy.
By using a fable blank template created by another educator, teachers can provide a structured framework for students to explore their storytelling abilities, foster critical thinking skills, and encourage collaboration. It offers a versatile and adaptable tool for engaging students in the creative and educational process of fable writing.
