Taboo Directions https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CY6rfQi75Vc\&nohtml5=False

  • Divide the class into 6 groups. Each group will have two teams of 3. Place the bell/timer and cards in the center of the table.
  • Choose one person from each team to be the first clue giver.  She/he sits opposite of their team and draws a card, keeping it hidden from their team and the opposing team.
  • Give verbal clues to your teammates to help them guess the word printed at the top of the card. Do not use the words that are printed on the Taboo list on the card.  Each team will choose one card per turn and will have 30 seconds to gives clues and guess the correct word.
  • One person from the opposing team stands near the team giving the clues. He/she will make sure the clue giver doesn’t use the words listed on the card. If you hear the clue giver use the Taboo word they must move on to another word.
  • If after 30 seconds the team doesn’t guess the correct word then the opposite team will have a chance to guess the correct word and earn the point.
  • The team with the biggest number of words guessed wins.

NEW! International Organizations Review PowerPoint Game— Geography, Civics

By Geography & Math Made Easy

This lesson is a great review PowerPoint game for students to show their understanding of various international organizations as well as the differences between NGOs and IGOs.

FOR THE FULL VERSION OF THE LESSON CLICK HERE.

This PowerPoint Review Game on World International Organizations can be used in geography, civics, and government. It incorporates both Non-governmental (NGOs) and Intergovernmental (IGOs) — because they play a significant role in shaping global connections. These organizations, such as the United Nations, World Trade Organization, and World Health Organization, work to maintain peace, promote human rights, ensure economic stability, and address pressing issues like climate change and poverty on a global scale. By learning about these organizations, students gain a deeper understanding of the interconnectedness of our world and the importance of collaboration among nations.

Students will be given scenarios (1 per slide) and, working with their teams, will decide which organization would be the best fit.

This PowerPoint focuses on the following International Organizations:

  • NGOs vs IGOs
  • Red Cross
  • World Trade Organization (WTO)
  • North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO)
  • Mercy Ships
  • World Wildlife Fund (WWF)
  • Human Rights Watch Organization (HRW)
  • World Health Organization (WHO)
  • United Nations (UN)
  • World Bank
  • United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO)
