Make learning about French culture and history interesting with this no-prep digital escape game bundle.  The games include access to a website where your students will hunt for the keys to unlock a set of locks.  Students will need to read the clues very carefully and watch videos, visit websites, and read texts to find the information they need to win the game.  Very easy to use - just send your students to the website and let them work!  Students can play individually or in teams.

Digital escape games are a fun way to start a unit, or to review at the end of a unit.  They can also be used to learn about a cultural or historical event.  This game will have your students reading carefully and paying attention to the smallest details in order to complete the challenge and unlock the locks.

• Answer key so you can help students if they get stuck!

Your students will enjoy learning without even realizing that they are learning!  The challenging game format will get them excited about finding the code to unlock each lock - and the format of the clues for each lock will have them paying close attention - there's no way to solve the puzzles without being 100% focused! 

Prep is very easy - you just need to share the website URL with your students.  You may want to test the site before you use it, just to make sure nothing is blocked by your district.  As some of the clues can be challenging to unlock, you may choose to help your students with the trickier ones.  With the teacher guide, you will have the answer key - so you can help guide students towards the correct answer by giving them hints, or if you have limited time, you can adjust the game by reducing the number of locks they need to unlock - just give them the answer(s) to help the activity fit your time constraints.

Vacaciones en España focuses on a trip to the beach town of Benidorm, on the West Coast of Spain.  This Google Slides presentation contains vibrant photos of real people, which makes it engaging for students.  Each slide comes with text to explain what they’re seeing. Within the presentation are links to reading, writing, speaking and listening activities.  This activity is great for a travel theme and when students are starting to learn the past tense! Avila is a similar format to Vacaciones en España. The Google Slides™ presentation contains original photographs from Ávila, Spain, a beautiful and medieval city to the north of Madrid. Each slide contains text taking students through Ávila’s past (its incredible walls, towers and cathedral) and present-day life with some views of the city!  The text is mainly written in both present and past (preterite and imperfect) and therefore is great for Years 2, 3 and 4. The Escape Room is a student favorite! It comes in a Spanish and English version, and students must follow the clues to help solve a crime.  The clues take them all around Spain where they will learn about various aspects of the culture.  Each clue they solve reveals the next clue! Spanish writing prompts, especially when you make them into a group challenge, are a great way to get your Spanish 2, 3 or students writing, improving and learning from others!  

Your Spanish students will look forward to working together to create writing that meets and exceeds the standards you’re looking for!  Writing together allows peers to learn from each other and takes away some of the pressure when writing alone. The themes are relevant and interesting to students and promote creativity with language. 

All of these resources help give the teacher the resource of time!  The group challenges provide you the chance to offer specific feedback, but on just one paper per group instead of one for every student!  And peer editing is another way for students to receive feedback without the need for the teacher to correct everything.
