12th Grade Algebra 2 Activities

This is a riddle with 16 questions where students solve for a variable when there are variables on both sides. There is a modified and non-modified version. The modified version guides students in the process of solving. This is great for special education or when introducing solving equations. My students loved this activity and it kept their interest. Afterwards, they were more comfortable in the process of solving when there is a variable on both sides.

You can use this to differentiate when you have a gap between ability levels.

This game is available in a 5 for 3 bundle. It is a great adaptation of a traditional/straight game of Rummy. The cards some in 4 suits, with answers in the range of 1 to 13. So the rules are very similar to Rummy, except that the players can decide and justify the solutions of their cards in order to play. The game is easily prepared, thanks to easy cut guides. Solve each of the quadratic equations using the quadratic formula, giving answers to two decimal places.

Instructions

• Print off the twenty question pages and put them up around the room

• Each question is in the middle of the page and the solution is at the top of another page.

• A student begins on a given question, solves it and finds the answer on another sheet. The question on this sheet will be the next question they answer. Once they have answered all twenty, they will return to their starting question

• Depending on numbers, students can all start on different questions

• There is a student answer sheet included plus the correct sequence
