Cochlear Implant Surgery Workbook for Deaf HOH
By Sign with me TOD
In this product, students will learn about the process of receiving cochlear implants. They can add a picture of themselves to the first page of the booklet. Students will learn or review what steps are needed to receive cochlear implants - a hearing test, going for a scan to determine if cochlear implants would benefit a Deaf individual, going to the hospital to have cochlear implant surgery, a doctor called an otolaryngologist performs cochlear implant surgery, and what happens after surgery, when cochlear implants are turned on and mapped.
Students will review how they can care for their cochlear implants upon receiving them - charging them, putting them in their case when they are not being used, and where they should not go.
Students will be able to draw a picture of themselves wearing their cochlear implant(s). Students can then circle the color of their cochlear implants on the sheets provided. If the color of their cochlear implant is not included in the product, students can color the cochlear implants(s) pictures to show what they look like. At the end of this section, students will complete a fill in the blanks and true/false vocabulary review based on what was covered in the product.
Students will then learn about facts about hearing loss and Deafness - Examples: some people wear one hearing aid, one cochlear implant, two cochlear implants, etc., some people who are Deaf and have cochlear implants may use American Sign Language to communicate, the parts of the ear are reviewed - outer ear, ear canal, eardrum, cochlea, and auditory nerve, and how they work together to help someone hear. Students will label the parts of an ear diagram that is included in this product, identify the differences between hearing aids and cochlear implants, learn the different parts of the internal and external components of cochlear implants and where they are located using a diagram. Students will have the opportunity to again complete a fill in the blanks using a key to review what was learned about hearing aids and cochlear implants, and label a cochlear implant using a key. Students will review how the parts of the cochlear implant work together that allows them to hear. Sound fields and FM systems are also reviewed in this product.
At the end of the product, there are three slides that include the sign language and pictures to help students understand the process that takes place to when having cochlear implant surgery and once surgery has been completed.
Conversation Skills for Reciprocal Communication and Listening | Speech Therapy
By Teach Social Skills
Practice important social skills like active listening, turn-taking, and engaging in reciprocal conversations.
By using a visual representation to track the flow of conversation, students are able to physically see if their conversations are a good balance of both questions and comments.
This way YOU don't have to interrupt to prompt them, thus making their conversation unnatural and reduces prompt dependency!
Included are:
6 different color conversation trees
2 different black & white conversation trees
2 spinners with conversation starters
1 spinner template to write your own starters
8 sheets of fruit/leaf icons for the trees
How to Play!
Students are given a set of icons, such as fruit or leaves. Students determine which icon will represent a question and which will represent a comment. (E.g. Apples = questions, Pears= comments).
Each time a student makes a comment or asks a question, they place that icon on the tree. As the conversation progresses, the tree should be fairly balanced between both apples and pears.

Irregular Verb Rhyming Flashcards Low Colour Version (EFL/ESL/Speech Therapy)
By Miss Clever Cookie
Irregular verb flashcards with the forms of past simple and past participle. Picture rhymes make drilling 76 irregular verbs more fun and less effort, great for teaching correct pronunciation. A perfect resource for dyslexic students. I use them in my EFL classes but I'm sure they would also work great in speech therapy sessions. This is an ink friendly version, should you prefer more colour, check out my store.
I teach classes with a high concentration of dyslexic students. With their limitations in mind, I created flashcards that cater to their abilities. With my students these flashcards work like a charm. I find that their ability to recollect the correct forms of past simple and past participle has greatly improved. I recommend starting with the larger flashcards. Once your students are familiar with the picture rhymes, use the smaller flashcards that contain just the infinitive and pictures rhymes.
Contains 76 irregular verbs and 2 types of flashcards.
List of irregular verbs included in this product:
be, become, begin, bite, break, bring, build, burn, buy, catch, come, cost, cut, dig, do, draw, drink, drive, eat, fall, feel, fight, find, fly, get, give, go, grow, have, hear, hide, hit, hold, hurt, keep, know, learn, leave, lie, lose, make, mean, pay, put, read, ride, ring, run, say, see, sell, send, set, sing, sink, sit, smell, speak, spell, spend, stand, steal, stick, sweep, swim, take, teach, tear, tell, think, throw, understand, wake, wear, win, write
